havent done anything different it was running fine then all of a sudden it just started running like crap, so i cleaned the carbs bc it had some trash in the tank, didnt make any difference. i also installed a in line filter, after it still didnt help i uninstalled the filter, still no difference.
i will check for ground issues, and last year i put new coils and the pickup on the crankshaft. also it reved fine a couple of times yesterday then back to the same crud.
Sounds to me that the carbs are not clean. I know you cleaned them, but did you clean out all the jets and passageway. That happens when there's trash in the tank.

well i cleaned the carbs again this time really took my time and made sure it was clean and still no change, could a loose timing chain be the problem.
Have you got a manual? What does it (the service manual) say to check?

i noticed some backfiring back through one carb when trying to rev yesterday. the manual says to check ignition timing, plugs and wires. im thinking i may have a valve sticking, could this be the problem?
