The 2015 GNCC Series resumed this past weekend in Odessa, New York. Hot weather rolled in Saturday and Sunday bringing out drastic dusty conditions for racers. Beta USA's Cory Buttrick, Jesse Groemm, and Justin Sode rolled to the starting line on their Factory Beta 250 RRs. Off the start, Justin Sode grabbed a solid start while Jesse Groemm and Cory Buttrick got mid-pack starts in the dust.

Cory Buttrick settled into a top six position throughout the race and even worked his way into fifth place and inside the top 15 overall. Buttrick comments, "I got off to a pretty decent start, right around the top 10. I was able to make some passes quickly on the first lap to move up to sixth. At the end of the second lap I made my way into fifth. I held on to fifth place the rest of the day until the final lap where we encountered some issues with a broken air box clip that cost us our first top five. Overall, I was really excited with how I felt on the bike with my fitness because it was an extremely tough race between the heat, dust, and rocks. I'm ready to rebound in Missouri. I can't thank Beta USA, my trainer Shaun. Dr. Steve Thaxton, Moose Racing, Scott Goggles, Kenda, Stillwell Performance, Motorcycle Superstore, Asterisk, Tim, my mechanic, parents and fiance enough for being in my corner." Buttrick would ultimately finish sixth place just 16 seconds out of a top five.



Buttrick secured another consistent finish.


Meanwhile, Jesse Groemm suffered a broken shifter on the first lap before he was able to charge forward. Groemm laid down some of the fastest laps of the day before settling into 11th place. "It was unfortunate I snapped my shifter off on the first lap, losing over four minutes once I got going again," said Groemm. "I was last in XC2 and back with the A riders. I made my way back up to 11th and turned some of the fastest lap times. I know I have the speed and I'm hungry to get some good results. My Beta 250 RR worked awesome."

After two laps, Justin Sode unfortunately had to pull off after dislocating his wrist. Sode will plan to ride the Missouri NEPG.

Next, the East Coast Beta team heads to Park Hills, Missouri for the fifth round of the National Enduro series.
