Need some glue for grips
Just put some nice iso grips on my bike and after letting the left grip set for a few hours i noticed its not as tight as it should be and yet i used the whole tube of glue supplied although it was rather tiny. tomorrow i might see if i can wiggle it off. can you use 100% silicone that you can get at a home depot? just looking for the cheapest alternative since ill be using it just once really. thanks

You won't believe me when I tell you this, I didn't either, but use hairspray. I had to replace my handlebars the other night and completely forgot about glue. I had read on my SV1000 forum to use hairspray. It worked better than any glue I've used on my grips before.
It lubes it up at first to make it real easy to slide on. Then once it dries it's very sticky. I think I read that it actually melts into the rubber, creating even a better grip. Had it on for a week, and that thing will not budge period!
Try it, I'm telling you that you will be suprised.

well unfortunately id like to try the hairspray method but it seems since the glue set i cant really get the left grip off although i can still twist it.
the plastic insert is glued good but yet the grip can still twist. i dont see anyway i can get this grip off w/out damaging it so ill just have to leave it as is. it doesnt twist while im riding its just one of those annoying things thats in the back of my mind, you know?

grips
The grips on my Ninja are made of PVC, I used PVC plumbing cement. Those suckers are on permanent. Will have to cut them off if I ever want to change them. However, when I put 'em on, I was less concerned about getting them off down the road than I was to have them move at at all while on the road... dig?
