Considering that a long time ago it was 1% and now it's probably more like 0.01%...

And considering many motorcyclists have no interest in being anything like an outlaw biker...

And most outlaw bikers no longer have any interest in displaying their affiliation. Even Sonny Barger disavowed his connections. At least, that's what he said...

And outlaw biker gangs are now officially criminal organizations under RICO...

It's uncertain how many posers there are out there, but it's certain they're posing for the wrong thing.

I've hung out with those club guys a bit over the years. A lot of them are decent guys. One thing I liked was that I could bring a date to their clubhouse or a party and not worry. If they knew she was with me no man would mess with her. In the grungier environs of LA that's a big plus.

I didn't like the violence, or how these guys were constantly looking over their shoulder. There was a bit of paranoia, too. HA wasn't too big in LA, but the Mongols were, and I knew some Vagos as well. The Mongols recruited from the cholo gangs, and those young guys were cold and ruthless. Not bad guys once you got on speaking terms, but hair trigger in many ways.

They were Harley snobs, too. My buddy put 50k miles on a little Honda 250, but the guys wouldn't let him park in the clubhouse. Anyway, that was years ago, and I ride a Honda now. There are tons of poseurs in Hollywood, but those of us who schlep around on bikes... hey, whatever you ride is cool.

The whole idea of "posers" is sorta inherinty arrogant in my opinion. Unless you are in every single persons head in the world, how do you know someones reasons, motives, or rationale for doing anything? Who are you to decide that someone else is doing something for the right or wrong reason? Furthermore who are you to decide what is the right or wrong reason? If someone rides his Eliminator 125 once a month or someone else rides his Roadking 100 miles a day every day, who cares? Everyone has their own motivations and their own reasons for doing whatever it is they do, just be happy for whomever you see on a bike that they discovered the joy of riding.....

And honestly, who cares what someone else is wearing? Leave the fashion judging to Joan Rivers...

Personnaly Ic ould care less who rides what as long as they're having funa nd enjoying it.

Poser wise, I can't stand people who do things just to look cool.

for example, there is this guy where I work, he has a big harley poster hanging above his desk, he has harley models all over his desk, and everyday he wears a different harley shirt...but...does he own a harley or has he ever owned a harley...NO

that to me is the absolute definition of a poser. Looking the part just to impress. Damn fool.

Yeah I know what you mean but it's such a silly thing to let bother you. I really like the Shelby Mustang from Gone in 60 seconds, you know the one, Eleanor. I even have a poster of it, but I doubt anyone who owns one is bothered by that and I doubt they would call me a poser. At the end of your day when the guy gets in his ford Tempo and you get on your bike, you get the last laugh...
