Carb Oil Tube?!

Can someone please tell me the name of the narrow oil tube that runs into the carb I've taken my carb off twice the last few days and removing this tube was a struggle, involving prising it off and pulling. There was the tiniest nick on it which has broken into a tiny split, and there is air being pulled in through it. I tried an insulation tape repair :p which wasn't successful. Soooooo I need to replace it, as the length is too short to cut it. Anyone know? It runs up from the bottom end into the carb, and is quite narrow. There is a wider tube which runs from the autolube tank down into the bottom half of the engine.

I don't know the name as I know little about your style bike. However, I've always taken old tubes to the shop, told them what it was for and they matched it to available tubing and cut it how I wanted (maybe a tad longer if I wanted it). Could you do that?

Yes, but what I wanted to know the name for was so I could locate it properly in the Haynes - so I can read fully about removing/replacing... Can't seem to spot it so far to ID it!

Ooh, it might be the 'Delivery Line', the line to deliver two stroke oil to the carburetor oil discharge nozzle (:?)

What a pain in the @ss!

From what I can read - to just replace the carb feed line from the autolube pump to the carb - the crankcase right hand cover needs to be removed, which involves:

draining the transmission oil
removing oil/water pump cover and radiator cover
draining the coolant
removing the kick start lever.

On my Vision, it's common to have to drain something, get a new gasket, and then improvise because the part you need isn't available anymore.

You do get that sense in pride in saying that you fixed the (insert repair here) and your friends just look at you, nod and talk about something they did that day.

Is there nothing I could use to perform a 'first aid' repair?! The split is under 1mm. I did try electrical tape but it mustn't have stuck sufficiently.

I think it would have more to do with the oil pressure in the tube than the tape not sticking. You're going to have to replace it. You might find a patch to hold it if you're creative, but you wouldn't want to ride it further than the shop

dont run the engine with the oil feed pipe leaking.
all the oil that goes through it is supposed to go in the engine not on the ground.

Its ok, theres no oil leaking out - its a tiny air bubble every other second going into the carb with the two stroke oil.
