I just went out and bought the latest copy of Motorcyclist Magazine, and they have a feature article on the New 675. It's a very good read, and describes "Character" of both the bike and the company better than I ever could.

But I hate the old 'that bike has no character' tag some bikes get stuck with. They all have character/personality..... some are just milder than others.... alot like people, eh?

I'd rather have a bike with no character than one that had a character requiring me add oil every gas stop, or slobbering goo all over one pantleg, or having all the electrical fail 12 minutes after darkness falls....

what about the good ol honda cbr600 very nice looking bike has underseat exhaust sorry but i dont know the specs but if i had to make the choice you have to id be inclined to go for the r6 or cbr600 . thats just going off some of the things i have read in my bike mags thou

If somebody had a bike with a character he will know that. It will stay in your heart forever. My vote is going to Triumph.

Make mine a 675. It will get smoked by the others on the racetrack but if you are not racing, who flippin' cares????? It's about time someone thought about building different sportbikes than the usual 4 cylinder across aluminum frame clones. Leave the sheep to follow track times and magazine shoot-outs!

I went for the Trumpy, I was looking at one in the Harley, Honda, Suzuki, Generator, Whipper-snipper, Lawnmower Dealer the other day & was quite impressed with it....

I would also venture to guess that the Triumph is going to have a less agressive riding position than the competition.

The new Daytona actually matches the japanese 600s pretty well in numbers though knowing Triumph the bike will be intended primarily for street use and not track use so it should be set up a lil more conservative than the others.

What I like is they kept the price competitive with the japanese bikes.

The triumph 675 is on my list of possible future bikes if it rides as well as I think it will.

Plus IMHO triples sound much better than 4 cylinders. Much more exotic.

having now seen both bikes in the flesh i found myself drawn to read this thread...

i voted Yam, but with me nothing is set in stone: the new yam is the most amazingly wicked production 600 sport bike i've ever seen, but for the street I'd chose the Triumph. i really liked the previous Triumph 600 too...

It's always a matter of the intended use, and if the vote was between 600-class girls, a 600 single-cylinder SuperMotard or Dual Sport would be my long-term choice for versatility, character, personality, fun, and practicality ... the trick is would she be a KLR650 or an MT-03 ...... easy vote for me actually... i'd go MT-03... her character ultimately wins out vs practicality...
