having now seen both bikes in the flesh i found myself drawn to read this thread...
i voted Yam, but with me nothing is set in stone: the new yam is the most amazingly wicked production 600 sport bike i've ever seen, but for the street I'd chose the Triumph. i really liked the previous Triumph 600 too...
It's always a matter of the intended use, and if the vote was between 600-class girls, a 600 single-cylinder SuperMotard or Dual Sport would be my long-term choice for versatility, character, personality, fun, and practicality

... the trick is would she be a KLR650 or an MT-03 ...... easy vote for me actually... i'd go MT-03... her character ultimately wins out vs practicality...
