I'm betting on a black fullfaced helmet you'll barely be able to see them.

Mesa is agreeing on tha funny looking bit. Do me a favour though, put a pillion on and tell me if you can see what they are a doing. Now that would be good.

Well they won't be here for a week...so when they arrive I'll affix them and snap some pics and post a road test.

Am I correct in thinking that they're made more for vehicles that don't already have mirrors? What's the point otherwise? I'm more comforatable doing thorough head-turn shoulder checks as opposed to relying on mirrors anyway. But to each his own. I guess I think they just look too strange to be worth whatever small benefit they may offer.

There was(maybe still is, maybe by this very company) a product called 'Visor Vue' that had similar mirrors built into the duckbill visor of dirt helmets. They worked well and were much more inconspicuous. Steve McQueen used to use one when he was desert racing. The concept works and has been around for a long time. I've seen the odd guy with them here and there for years. Ussually trekker-types on BMW GS's and the like. Those guys use what works and care little for how it looks.

The ones mounted down low and on stalks probably work better, allowing a better view around the helmet.
