Congrats on the new bike. The CX500 is a good choice. It sounds like it's in excellent running condition. Pretty rare for a used bike of that era. I don't envy you right now, but I will in about 7 months. I love riding the backroads in western WY, MT and ID. Some of the best motorcyle roads around. The downside for me is I have to ride 1000 miles to get there

Watch those new tires, particularly on wet pavement. It usually takes about 100 miles of riding to get rid of the slippery coating on a new set of tires. Don't know if yours are past that point, but I'd keep the lean angles to a minimum until I was sure.
