You need to check your plugs. you may not even be running on all cylinders. then if all the plugs are good(and test whether they all have spark) then try using seafoam in tank and run the engine.
how long has the bike been sitting?
people seem to have different preferences on idle speed but usually around 1100 rpm.

pull the plug and if it looks clean attach it to the plug wire and ground it to the engine block. use pliers to hold it there and then turn on the bike and start it. look at the spark plug and if there's a fat blue spark then the spark is good...if its a yellow spark you may have something wrong w/ the plug or an electric component.IHMJack wrote:How do you test the plugs?
What is and how to you do the "seafoam" test?
been siting for few months.
the seafoam is just a cleaning agent u can buy at an auto shop...sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't. but if the bike has been sitting a while u may have to tear into the carbs anyway

Any metal part on the outside of the plug, the threads, the flats you put the wrench on.... just not the center electrode(like you could ...) or the porcilin part.
One good way to instantly know if you have spark is.....
remove the plug and connect the spark plug lead from the coil to the proper end of the plug
wrap you hand around the end of the plug that goes in the engine
spin the engine ove with the starter.
You will know right away if you have spark.
Uuuummmm........ you don't have a pacemaker do you?

No Witnesses....

I just replaced all 4 spark plug with new ones, I think the 3 of the old ones failed the spark test.
But once again back to the old problem, The engine starts ok and it idles at 1100-1300RPM OK. On neutral, I rev up to 4000-5000RPM it falls back on 1200RPM OK.
But when I drive the bike on 1st or 2nd gear when I rev to about 4000RPM after I pull the clutch, most of the time the engine dies completely before I can shift to next gear. Or sometimes on 2nd gear at about 3000RPM the engine sounds like its "choking" then when I pull the clutch the engine dies.
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM! I want to know how to fix this problem, I bought this bike about 8 months ago, and I havent got any fun out of this bike just headaches, bad luck for me that right when I bought the bike it went BAD. =(
Help would be greatly appreicated =)
