When you have the public’s ear you should be "responsible" in your remarks. I mean if you see someone that is on the verge of jumping off of a bridge you would get in serious trouble if you yelled "go ahead and jump" it's the same thing.storysunfolding wrote:Wouldn't he have to act on his anger to be considered a road rager? I dont think the issue here is with him thinking bad thoughts, or wishing someone would crash or get punished for something he doesn't like. Its more about him publically encouraging someone to do it...you'd be surprised how many idiots out there will do anything with just a little encouragement, especially when its suggested that its 'right' or 'cool'.

Think it...maybe OK, but to broadcast it is totally inappropriate.storysunfolding wrote:Wouldn't he have to act on his anger to be considered a road rager? I'm just saying that there's no way you can get his license pulled for road rage that way.Pongo wrote: Think it...maybe OK, but to broadcast it is totally inappropriate.
At the same time, I don't see it as actively encouraging anyone to do it. He obviously saw it on the way to work in the morning and thought it would fit into his pet peeve section. I doubt he's going to get in much trouble for it. Yeah he pissed off bikers, but he probably just identified with all the cages out there. The only heat I bet he's really suffering is from the Yamaha dealership but I doubt they pull their advertising.
At the same time, everytime I read about lane splitting I see people saying that they are only going 10-15 mph and they hate the guys who fly through traffic at 30-40 mph. That when you're lane splitting you need to be even more aware because cars not only have trouble seeing you, but they don't keep a constant vigilance when they are changing lanes, avoiding bumps or whatnot. If you're going 10-15 I can't imagine the guy is going to open the door fast enough that you don't brake or that at that speed you get that messed up. Then you have legal course to sue the hell out of the guy, get a few new bikes, a new house and a trophy wife/husband or whatever.
My point exactly!CNF2002 wrote:I dont think the issue here is with him thinking bad thoughts, or wishing someone would crash or get punished for something he doesn't like. You are right that he won't get his license pulled that way. I do hope he is on the radar though.storysunfolding wrote:I'm just saying that there's no way you can get his license pulled for road rage that way.
Maybe he isn't actively encouraging anyone to do it. The fact he has broadcast this idea could possibly incite someone to actually carry this out. You know, 'putting ideas into peoples heads.'storysunfolding wrote:At the same time, I don't see it as actively encouraging anyone to do it. I understand people have to be responsible for their own actions and probably very few would carry this, 'door crashing,' idea out, but when I see pictures of people launching a motorcycle off the roof of a multi-level carpark I have to wonder how much sanity is left.
I know these radio guys like to be contraversial, it gets an audience. In this case I think he is plain wrong.

I don't want to give my 2 cents on this kind of subject since my English is not very good and I wasn't born in US, but the more I listen to this guy the more I get mad. It might not be such a big deal out of state of California since Spliting lane is illegal already, but here in CA (big city, very jam traffic) it is normal and terolatable.
At one time I saw a couple in a car tried to block a motorcycle in front of me. They even drove their car almost past white line just to block this poor guy on motorcycle. Then they laugh to each other like having a fun time after seeing the poor guy brake and almost drop his bike. And you know what the license plate if not from California.
On the quote from this DJ, "everybody should suffer equally"
So why don't you get go to Iraq and suffer the same with our soilder, why some can drive in carpool lane when most can't and have to stop in traffic. etc.....
Another quote "nothing would make me happier than watch ............... I hope you crash"
This is really sick, and that called encourage other ppl to do the same.
Even though he mentioned "Crotch Rocket travel at 160mph in traffic" but in a lot of cagers' eyes, they think all motorcycle and rider are the same no matter what.

These are the same kinds of people who are annoyed that people driving economical hybrid vehicles have the right to the HOV lane. No, we should not all 'suffer equally' because we as motorcyclists have made a personal choice on our mode of transportation that differs from someone in an SUV, we choose to ride a vehicle designed for a single traveller, which is better on traffic congestion (as illustrated by our ability to split lanes and avoid contributing to further congestion).
This guy is just mad that he doesn't want a motorcycle, so why should anyone else benefit from having one. A typical selfish American (no offense to all the unselfish Americans out there).

They just sound like dribbling idiots to me.
It's a wonder the Station doesn't do an 'On Air' apology.
Anyway....the likelyhood of any rider being 'DOORED" is limited to people not wanting to Damage their car, it's the nutters in crappy cars you'll need to watch out for....like those Smokey Junkers & Redneck Pickups!
Then again, I'm not American so who knows who to really avoid? - Yanks can be strange at the best of times eh.
