I love wearing a scarf when cruising on a warmer winter day in the convertible.

Not sure how I feel about it on the bike. I'm not really worried about it snagging on anything while I'm riding because I pretty much stay clear of most things. You could just go to the fabric store and pick up something that isn't all that strong. Then not only will it get that cool fraying look to it, but you'll not worry about it ganking you off the bike if it gets caught on anything

thanks, i'll check out some weak fabric. it will also give me a reason to ride around town since i get bored easily of city riding w/o a destination.

Yeah, generally fabric stores have older women manning sewing machines and scissors right in the store. They could fix you up with something right quick assuming you didn't want to go home and do it yourself.

I would say that if you must do this, attach it someway with an easy release. Hold it on with a small zip-tie or something else fairly weak.

And definately take a picture. I got to see this set-up on the road.....

You guys have got it all wrong, if you spray the scarf with starch then it will be as stiff as a board and then you can shape it how you want and it will not flap in the wind. It may act like a sail and blow you across the highway though.

i don't have a scarf yet but im not gonna wear the scarf until i make very little mistakes already.

i gotta think of the scarf's reputation you know... i don't want to leave a bad image to people that saw "the red scarfed rider." gotta think of the future generations of red scarfed riders.

I think the flapping in the windstream is going to bother you more than you think. Once in a while I take off forgetting to fasten the neck strap on my winter jacket -- I never go more than a 1/4 mile before I pull over to fasten it down. Things flap a LOT in a 40mph breeze, let alone 80mph.

I think I shall get one too, with blue and purple flames on it and a skull and cross bones and everything! and then I am going to paint my bike pink!

but really, if it matches the color of the bike and the helmet and the jacket, will anyone see it? I say go for it really, despite requisite ribbing, it could be cool, at track days it will make you visable amongst the other riders in exactly the same full factory replica race gear like you, which of course will give you the uniqueness you seem desperately trying to avoid with the racer replica everything. just a thought, go with one theme, unique scarved rider, or full factory replica, they are at polar opposites, and I've claimed the dichotomous name and bipolar theme for myself already........
