How bout some UK bike terms?

A 'hugger' here is a mudguard which 'hugs' the wheel closely.

Turn signals/blinkers, are known as 'indicators' in the UK

CBT = 'compulsory basic training' a one day training course which all newbies must complete before being allowed to ride on the road in the UK. (It also stands for 'Cognitive Behaviour Therapy' which many car drivers could do with to improve the way they relate to bikers.)

DSA - Driving Standards Agency. The UK government body which, among other things, controls the content of the British bike test.

'Thrashing it', 'Caning it': self-explanatory terms for taking the bike for 'a blast'.

'Mushrooms' or 'Crash Bungs' are terms for the plastic 'bungs' you attach to the frame to protect the fairing etc in case of a 'spill' or crash.

“Man has no right to kill his brother. It is no excuse that he does so in uniform: he only adds the infamy of servitude to the crime of murder.”

Here's one used in my old club, The Chiltern Classic MCC, after our ride to the Isle of Man in 1978, consisting of two Vellocette Thruxtons, my pre unit Bonneville, and a brand new Bonneville. "Stitching a line", meaning to get by traffic quick and safe.
I can still hear the sound of those Thruxtons on full chat in my mind. Wonderful

ALL WORDS ABOVE THIS POST have been added to the Total Motorcycle Biker's Dictionary.

Keep your suggestions coming. :) Foreign words or terms are fine! I think I will have to find a list of terms used by US/UK for motorcycle tools (e.g. Spanner/Wrench)

Mini-bago = Large, heavy touring rig... loosely, a motorhome on two wheels. Goldwing, Voyager, Venture, etc.
Let me get this straight... it's one down and four up, right?
