Look at a dyno chart, see how the line for HP and TQ curves? that's what he means.VermilionX wrote:what do you mean by linear curve?Sevulturus wrote:
But his HP isn't a linear curve. I pops up a bunch just after 9000 rpm.
could you explain please? thanks.

With one revolution of the crank shaft, the wheel spins at a relative speed. The speed of which the wheel spins is determined by engine speed, transmission gearing, sprocket gearing and stuff.VermilionX wrote:ok, so my bike powers up until 12K rpm then powers down after 12K rpm.
what does this have to do at top speed on 1st gear? sorry, im ignorant on these stuff.

i don't get it but based on that info, is your estimate earlier is too low or too high?GeoffXR200R wrote: With one revolution of the crank shaft, the wheel spins at a relative speed. The speed of which the wheel spins is determined by engine speed, transmission gearing, sprocket gearing and stuff.

WELL you said 57-59 mph at 7k rpm, so we'll say 58 mph. so at 12k rpm it's ~99 mph. But that would be high cause there's no accounting for wind resistance and stuff.VermilionX wrote:i don't get it but based on that info, is your estimate earlier is too low or too high?GeoffXR200R wrote: With one revolution of the crank shaft, the wheel spins at a relative speed. You should stick like an old digital camera or a disposable camera (baw, film...) under your seat in that compartment.
Or in one of your saddlebags (don't know if you have any tank bags or use your rear bag that much).

Anyone know how tall 1st and 2nd gear are on the gxser that will determine how you move through the canyons as sport bikes usually have short 3,4,5 gears and out of a 4 cyl you usually need the revs for power in the turns but the straights are pure "grin factor" numba1
The agaility of the machine or flicabality will also determine how much fun you will have. I hear though that the gxser is a great machine all around. Personally I love the twisties as the fun factor of doing 70mph on a rode designed for 35 is twice the fun for me as doing over a hundred on a straight road but everyone is different, Just be careful with that gxser she is an ANIMAL from what I hear.
