You're too kind, Matt. I just got all excited about the ride Saturday, and went off on a tangent. I'm easily distracted that way. I tend to post the way a conversation might progress. I'm not very good at staying on topic.
But since you're game - Where is the first place you're going to take your new Bandit? Do you have a favorite road picked out?

Nah not yet. There some great roads in the Rockies unfortunaly they a few hours ride away.So I think Ill just sit on it in the Garage making Vroom Vroom noises
Mind you Im sitting here helmet shopping.Attention Calgary Chapter what the best place in town to get accesories price wise I though I would treat myself to some new kit as it is about time(Sheesh this is an expensive month)
I realy want this helmet but they dont import into North America.I might wait until I go back the UK this Summer for a wedding and then pick it up then.

Whoa that's a sweet helmet. In the market for one myself ... I still can't get over the fact that the big superstores here in Italy sell M/C gear and helmets ... but none that I like.
I really envy you for the Bandit - I was looking at one before I moved to Italy - Fully kitted out w/ scottoiler, bags, small windscreen, higher bars, etc etc. Decided to keep the old Seca in hopes that I would find cheaper bikes in Italy (yeah right - Thanks George W. our dollar Tanked just in time!) I think you'll have lotsa fun with it.
I think i'm going to go out helmet shopping now. I like the old helmet, cuz I can leave it anywhere and not fear that it will be stolen. With a lid like this, I think i'd have to carry it everywhere which would sorta suck ...

Matt, we just picked up a couple of new lids at GW cycle the other day. They are BY FAR the best place to buy that stuff in the city. Mrs.R got a nice KBC for $270 and they are usually good for 20% of posted price. If they don't offer the 20%, take me and I will get it for youMASHBY wrote:Mind you Im sitting here helmet shopping.Attention Calgary Chapter what the best place in town to get accesories price wise I though I would treat myself to some new kit as it is about time(Sheesh this is an expensive month)

Toyuzu, You are a brave man riding in those conditions..Brrrrrrrrrrrr! I got a great deal on my helmet, I got a Nolan Exlite, you know a full face that flips up. Here in UK they were going for £250......I got mine for £70. I got mine from the Busters Catalogue.

I'm not riding fast...........Just flying low!

Start Rant
Well Im F***** Off I just spoke with the dealer and they still cant find my Bike.We are the start of the season in Canada but they have sold out at the Suzuki's main werehouse. The Bandit isnt a huge seller in Canada but this year they have been doing realy well.Surley Suzuki Canada should have thought oh the bandits is doing well this year lets order some more as we are down to our last 3.So we will have to wait and see.I think I might go to Suzuki Canada and start trashing the place. How can a large manufactor stay in bussiness with this sort of lack of insight. If I win the lottery I might buy the Distrubator and fire everyone.
End Rant

What type of tires did you have on your bike to handle such conditions?Toyuzu wrote:Honestly, I feel that people who say bikes are not good for poor weather are misinformed. The gear that is available today makes it possible to ride in almost all conditions. Just use extreme caution, ride slowly and you can ride year-round.
Of course, there are places (Most of northern US and all of Canada) where the roads are frequently completely covered with ice. Not even I would attempt to ride then.
