No it isn't the oil and oil filter. That was done right before I got the bike. My first maintenance was cleaning and lubing the chain . It took awhile to clean it though, but that is because the guy before me must have used grease, as the chain was COVERED in it . WD-40 did help a lot getting it off though, and lubing the chain was pretty easy. Doing maintenance is actually pretty fun, as long as you have the time to do it.
Gasonline is actually really good for cleaning metal parts, that's what we usually used in my high school auto class. Just make sure you allow it to completely dry off/evaporate before you let it get close to something hot.

No, but I figure if some of it flings off or it looks like I need to put some on. I will do it again right away. I was cleaning it for an hour, and I didn't want to warm up the chain with really nothing on it, so I just put it on.
