Did my first maintenance on my bike =)

No it isn't the oil and oil filter. That was done right before I got the bike. My first maintenance was cleaning and lubing the chain :D . It took awhile to clean it though, but that is because the guy before me must have used grease, as the chain was COVERED in it  . WD-40 did help a lot getting it off though, and lubing the chain was pretty easy. Doing maintenance is actually pretty fun, as long as you have the time to do it.

Gasonline is actually really good for cleaning metal parts, that's what we usually used in my high school auto class. Just make sure you allow it to completely dry off/evaporate before you let it get close to something hot.

I got a "rollastand" last Fall but this is the first chance I have had to use it.

It really cuts down on the time it takes to degrease/grease the chain.

You did get the chain good and warm before you lubed it,right?
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

No, but I figure if some of it flings off or it looks like I need to put some on. I will do it again right away. I was cleaning it for an hour, and I didn't want to warm up the chain with really nothing on it, so I just put it on.
