Maybe we have different definitions of cut off... it doesnt bother me if someone comes into my lane in FRONT of me... but I havent had anyone come into my lane beside me...

I rarely get cut off from the side. A quick blast of teh horn and either a veere, twist of the throttle or squeeze of the brakes gets me past.

When I drive in heavy traffic I think of myself as a jet pilot ready to take evasive manuevers whenever I get caught in an "asshat lock"... missles are for pansies.

They do this stuff to other cars more than they do it to motorcycles. Most drivers I see go out of their way to make room for motorcycles. Unfortunately, they also aren't very good drivers. They run into each other, make left turns in front of other cars, pull out of parking lots in front of other cars, etc.

It just matters more when a motorcycle, bicyclist, or pedestrian is involved.

BTW: to mr. sword and pistol... the camera is not your friend.

Hi Biker_rach, good to see another Nova Scotian here. I haven't had anyone cut me off yet, but I've had alot of cagers trying to read a bumper sticker that I don't have

Maybe we have nicer drivers here in th maritimes,eh? lol Everything is nicer out here I think (plus there's the simple fact that we don't have cities like these guys are talking about... )Only problem I ever had on my bike was in Halifax; I usually only drive in rural NB.

If you use a bicycle to commute, then you'll have had these experiances tenfold I'd imagine.

Survival is the goal, never forget that. The more motorcyclists there are the more drivers will be forced to learn new driving skills to accomodate us.

I used a bicycle to commute for a long time, until I did get hit by a car in january, luckily it was in a parking lot, and the car was only going 30mph, but I still had to go to the hospital, had a concussion, and was on crutches for like three weeks. The driver of the car (a 21 year old girl who was cutting throught the parking lot to skip the interesection), her insurance company is still trying not to pay, saying it's my fault.
