besides, im trying to feel speed and intead of look at my speedo, i should be able to gauge how fast im going even w/o looking at the speedo.

when i crashed... i estimate im going around 35mph when i hit the loose gravel mid-turn and got a panic attack.
You'll never be able to really be as accurate as a speedometer to 'guess' your speed. Anyway, how are you supposed to learn how to estimate your own speed when now you never know what speed you are really going in the first place?

The idea is that you should be able to feel if you are going too fast for a certain situation. As a new rider I think that would be tough without a speedo.

You can train yourself to not look at the speedo without putting tape over it.

I find it odd that in California, you are required to have a functional odometer, but there is no requirement for a speedo... ??? Hmmmm....

yeah, i'd rather spend money on other stuff for the bike... it doesn't affect the handling anyway.

man! if i wasn't short on cash, i would have...

1. bought race plastics
2. custom paint the race plastics
3. paint the wheel red
4. get a yoshi tri oval full sys
5. get some öhlins suspension and steering damper
6. installed power commander III
7. buy a dainese bora 1pc
8. buy shoei X11 helmet
9. buy a bike trailer
10. buy a pickup to haul the bike trailer

but those are only in my dreams. :(

hmmm... i think i'll make a new topic about wish list and see what everyone dreams about. :D

I dont think your odometer can work without your speedometer...so its kinda inclusive!

You will never be an engineer...

V- definately wire up switches and hide your big ugly boxes. It's the easiest thing to do and your bike will be that much cooler
