That's basically what I'm talking about there. I've personally been in situations where 65 get's you tailgated and smushed. But if you're lucky enough to live in areas where the interstates aren't THAT bad, then go for it!DivideOverflow wrote:When I hit high speed roads, I go faster... I don't know about Geoff.
My 250 would go to 80mph without trouble, but there wouldn't be any power to pass anyone after that. Since I don't know of many roads with 80mph speed limits, I think you would be ok.
As someone who rides a Honda Reflex scooter as well as a couple of standard motorcycles (Triumph Bonneville, Suzuki Marauder), I'm going to say you can get tossed around on any bike, given the right wind conditions or getting passed by the right vehicle. With experience you learn to deal with it: don't tighten up and fight the bike, keep your upper body loose and let the bike do whatever wiggling underneath you it has to do. If the wind is hitting from one direction, lean into it, but vehicle buffet feels like it's coming from all directions at once. Some bikes are less affected than others, but the principle for dealing with it is the same.bobtasco wrote:I just realized that on a scooter I still get tossed from side to side when a car passed.
