I got my new pipes!

My other ones had a little rust and were sounding more like a vacum cleaner than a motorcycle  Well its an 800 what did I expect right? My husband surprised me, bought them and installed them today. When I got home from work I caught him test driving the bike... I was caught off guard I said "Well that looks like my bike, but dosen't sound like my bike?!" Needless to say im a happy camper. I hoped right on it and took it for a ride, I did notice a big change in performance. It's alot "thrustier" (is that even a word?) than before. The pic is posted in my personal gallery. I hope I linked it right.

They are Cobra pipes, not even sure what model, I haven't seen the paperwork yet.

Not to throw a wet blanket on ya or anything, but without a less-restrictive air intake and a jet kit your bike is not going to make much more power, if any. It's a psychological response to the loudness of the new pipes.

However, since you've gone this far, you may as well get an intake and appropriate jet kit and do it up right. I hear the 800's respond really well to this trifecta.

Yeah that's what my husband said, It's mental, that it's always been that way only now you can hear it. He's waiting for the kits to come in so he can finish the job.

Congrats!

Although I sort of prefer the old one's (looked at the pics) I can only imagine the smile that comes across your face when you switch on your bike.

I just put some Vance & Hines on mine about two months ago, and still get a kick everytime I crank it up: 8) 8)

Im not sure which mod kit he bought, but i'll keep you posted.

Mustang, I agree the other pipes were fatter and filled in that space nicely, but I guess it's a trade off.
