Survey for European motorbikers
Survey for European motorbikers
Hi all,
My name is Jussi Kesonen and I am working in a small finnish travel company.
Our company and our parters would like to find out is there an intrest in so called "accommodation pass" for European motorbikers. It would include couple of accommodations places around Finland. The point is that we can make marketing together with our partenrs and therefore offer accommodation with cheap prizes.
Questions:
1. Have you considered coming to Finland? If so why?
2. If you would come here what is you most probable route to come here and go back?
3. Would you be interested in a travelling pass which includes for example ten different accommodation places around Finland? The Price for that would be cheaper than if you book them one by one.
4. If you would come to Finland, how long time you like to spend here?
5. Would you like to come to Finland by yourself or would you like to come to Finland with a bigger group? How many people?
6. Do have any ideas considered this topic?
Thank you very much beforehand! Your comments will be a great help.

Sorry Jussi
Not really considered Finland before so I can't really answer your question, but felt bad that your topic had recieved no traffic...
The only constructive idea I have is suggesting you get in contact with a company that offers Guided Motobike Tour Holidays and seeing if they are interested in adding Finland to their line.

Re: Survey for European motorbikers
Jussi,
we haven't as we do focus on southern Europe which is more appealing to people than northern. But that doesn't take away the interest in your research and products.
Maybe you should first check what image have people in their mind when one says "Finland", for me it will be: snow, cold, night, drink! I know I am wrong but this should be for you a fundamental starting point in getting a better understanding of what would bikers look for.
To that you can also add the fact that you will have competition from the ex eastern bloc countries opening themselves to tourism and which lay south an do have that "new places and sort of exotic" image.
Hope this gives you some ideas even though it doesn't answer your questiosn.
Best of luck

For me, Finland brings up images of Northern British Columbia Canada... Mountains, snow, lots of pine trees, skiing, chalets, lakes and wilderness. Also we have a Finlandia Vodka here so Vodka does come to mind as well..haha. But I've never thought about it as a destination to ride in/to.
I'm sure yousee might be laughing at what I think Finland is as I've never been there myself...

Yousee.
Finland is a wonderfull land, I do not know it in person, but read a lot about Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
I live in the US, traveled to souther Europe ( I have Italian family, as well as Basque / Spanish family ) and also traveled extensively to South America ( avid surfer ). My next trip is going to be Indonesia and Australia.
On my next Italian trip, I want to go to Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Yes, like some said, it is colder over there, but it has a class by itself , the people and the land are beautifull , and it is a new experience.
My advise for you to build a traveling business, motorcycle / motorized traveling , within Europe , advertize your business and your country as a package. In colder months, most people will look for warmer areas to vacationate , but if you advertise your business at the begining of summer, that would be the way to go. You can sell packages ( perhaps in association with other traveling agencies in other countries ) in which Finland is the first, if not one of the first traveling destinations . A package could have Finland as the first destination. In early summer, a package that would entail Denmark and Sweden added to Finland would be the best in my opinion.
Perhaps a schedule with Germany , Netherlands , Belgium at the very begining, and as weather warms up, then via Denmark, into Norway, Sweden, up and around into Finland, then crossing the gulf of Finland by ferry, into Estonia, Lituania, Belarus........
You can have the reverse trip to...for eastern europeans. A package with Norway, Sweden and Finland is a good one, Denmark would be the liason between mainland and the north.
From looking at the reality of the map, Russian travelers could be very important to.
I think your country is blessed by the location, Rusia, European nations of different histories all around, the main part is to play the weather card with inteligence.
Start by bringing those customers close to northern europe early in summer, as it warms up, into Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway.......and as summer progresses, let them go into the souther warm europe. It is , in my view, imperative that you take the travelers in a northerly direction early in summer before they go into the south. Once in the warm south, it willl not be easy to take them up north, good timming.
