I went to the Honda dealership yesterday to check out some rides and the employee that helped me out happened to be 19 years old and owned a 2003 600RR. He said he had a completely clear driving record and that his insurance for that bike was $122 a month. I think his nsurance was through Progressive, but I don't remember for sure. Just thought I'd throw that out there for ya'. Plus, now I have an idea of what to expect for my rates (reason being I am 19 with a clear driving record).

Wow, what a difference the weather makes! I like in the suburbs of Denver riding the same bike as you almost (2 years older). I manage 575 a year for full coverage. Granted the weather and the auto theft rule most of that difference. But for 21yrs old I am very happy with my rate.
Since you are in the insurance biz, is an 05 650S going to run pretty much the same rate (maybe 5-100 more for the price I pay) you think as an 01?
I am thinking that the S model may actually be a difference unless the insurance company doesn't really rate for style or riding position etc. If you think about it- the S model does have a slightly more aggressive riding position plus fairing make it more of a race/sport bike. Where the naked version is more of a sport tourer. Some companies really don't care about all that and the displacement and bike value are then the only rating factor (besides age and location)
I'm 39 and in Seattle, WA - I pay $167 per year to insure myself and my wife (and any passengers) on our 1974 Honda cb360. That's not the minimums either... I could have gotten a policy for both of us for about $99 if I'd felt like lowballing it. We added some additional stuff for higher limits, medical payments and uninsured motorists.
I'm 21 and pay $133 a year for my 81 cb400t and $475 a year for my 03 z1000. Both are just liability and through rider insurance (local company in nj).
24, clear record, mesa(phoenix area), 03 suzuki katana600. i pay 520$ a year for $500,000 single limit coverage. after reading the single limit coverage seemd to be the way to go compared to the split coverage. anyone else had experience with the single limit? or does every one go split?
Do you have to have full coverage if you finance? Also can you do a fake quote online with State Farm like you can with Progressive? I wanted to buy a bike but I’m looking into financing because of the other "start up" costs (i.e. helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, pants...) that come with motorcycles.
My FJ1200 just cost me $276/year for PL/PD with a million coverage. I am way too close to 40 years old. If I do more damage than that with my bike, I figure I'll be too dead to sue afterwards.
