Jetting a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit 750

Here are the settings I use:

Needles on groove #3 from the top.

Install the new slide spring, to slow that boy down (if epuipped)

Without baffles....main jet...102 in the front and 104 in the rear
With baffles...main jet...100 in the front and 102 in the rear

Mixture screw 3 turns out

Good Luck. If these are the same settings you have, it must be something you did, sorry. Unless there are some mountains in New York that I am not aware of

Tried both vet options, and turned mixture screw out the 3 times. The problem w/tuning the mixture screw w/the airbox totally on is that now I cant get to one of the carbs mixture screw. So how would I adjust it?

I guess I'm gonna have to settle w/the fact that the carb is out of sync.

only thing left i guess

Call me stupid..............................Someone suggested to put the air box on.............................I did. But it was out of frustration!!!! I threw my hands up and said "enough of the crap". I'm putting it all together and taking it to the dealer in the morning. One more go w/it down the highway and Holy "poo poo"! Its working?

You guessed it.................the istallation of the stock air box was the issue after all. I wish I would have kn own this 3 weeks ago. But I guess I should have............................didnt think it could be soemthing so obvious.

Usually after the mixture screw is turned out past three turns, it's adjustment is done. Maybe go bigger on the idle jet.
I don't see why you would need to do being in New York.
I have done many of these and have never had a problem using the recommended settings.
How are the diaphrams, are they pinched?
Have you had the carbs synch'd? Taking them out as many times as you say you have can easily and probably have changed the setting.
Do not modify your airbox to try to get it to work. There is no need for that. The jet kit you have does not require any mods.
I will look tomorrow when I get to work and look through my notes on jetting for this model. I use Dyno-Jet which I think should be the same.
I hope my memory holds up, if it does, I will post with my settings.

That would have been me! Try reading these things once in awhile.

I did get a $5 meal and a free tank of gas out of it! Plus all the wisdom my puny little brain could handle. NO MORE OIL CHANGES FOR ME!!!
