remove gas tank

hello, i just bought a '73 honda cl350 as my first bike. i have to replace some fuel lines and the throttle cable and id like to remove the gas tank to make this easier. what exactly is holding down the tank in the front? thanks!

I have no idea about your bike, but on the bikes I've had there are three ways for the tank to be mounted.

1.) Bolt on the rear side of the tank that holds it down with two cups underneath that fit onto rubber discs on either side of the frame. You remove the bolt, then lift the rear a bit and slide the tank backward.

2.) Two bolts up front and the rear on a hinge. Remove the two front bolts, raise the tank and remove the bolt from the hinge

3.) Two bolts up front, one in back. Remove all three and lift.

I'm not sure if that helps but if you post a few pictures I can definately tell you how it's mounted
