Yamaha XZ-550
Yamaha XZ-550
New guy, returning to a bike after many years off my last. Anyone know what a Yamaha XZ-550 is? Or anything about it that's interesting or scary? One's for sale near here that looks nice and is reasonable but I don't need a clunker. It's a water cooled V-Twin. Any comments are welcom. chasflies@charter.net

It needs a few things done to it to make it reliable but it's one hell of a fun bike. Check www.ridersofvision.net for knowledge on how to fix them, what to do to make them more reliable and for a bunch of great guys that love this bike. I used to have two but had to downsize my stable when I moved into my current place... so I replaced it with a V-strom which rides very similarly and is also a water cooled V-twin... but with fuel injection.
