new topic - yamaha v-max pro
I was just checking out the galley and saw a glimpse of the v-max prototype. What a muscular looking steed indeed! Its gotta be the sexiest bike Ive seen! Ever! Is yamaha really considering making a completly new design for the Max? I sure hope so....cause thats the new breed and look of what a muscle bike should be!
If far is not enough ahead, then your riden like your supposed to!...Fast!

Rumors of a new max have been ongoing for several years. The Yamaha site shows the '06 model to be the same as the current max, just a different paint scheme.

Yes, I'd agree that rumors of a V-Max replacement have been ongoing for a long time. The V-Max is an amazing muscle bike, a legendary bike really. But time for some major revisions or replacement after 21 years I think.
Many in the media (us included) thought that Yamaha was going to be bringing the 2006 Yamaha MT-01 to North America this year. I might still happen, but now that there is an 06' V-Max, it is unlikely. Europe did get the MT-01, but they also have the Bulldog for quite a while as well.
The great things about manufacturers is that they do all listen to the public and what the public wants. So if you want the MT-01 (or any other bike) just speak up!
Mike.

well, I'm sure the MT-01 is a fine bike in its ownright, but in my personal opinion it's no substitute for a vmax. If a new gen max is around the corner, I'd hope it's at least vaguely resembles the current max, after all, that's part of the max's appeal. It would also need to keep the V4 layout, imo. I'd hate to see it covered in unnecessary technology, too. Ya listening, Yamaha??? lol Take that V4 up to 1600-1700 cc, gimme 175 hp and the torque to match, beef up the frame and brakes and maybe make the current lines a bit sleeker, but no less aggressive. There ya go, the all-new max. Rocket III... what's a Rocket III? lol

V Max Pro
I bring good news from Italy, where the real new Yamaha V Max is beeing designed and tested. It will not look so different from the actual, only newe components, new frame, new engine, R1 frok brakes etc...
It will be very powerfull and more stable, but not sporty.
Unluckiely i don't have pics and I don't know where and when they will present it. We'll see.
Ciao
Luca

it seems Yamaha was listening, in spades. Dunno if this is "it" or not, but I'll bet it's darn close. Here ya go, Luca http://www.v-max.us/2007%20VMX-18.jpg
