Should've known better
Hey guys sorry for my first post being a negative one but i need to tell the tale.
I bought a motorcycle online from a company, Scooterdepot, out in CA and asked all the right questins about the bike being legal in my state of NJ. after a few calls and I decided on the bike a, which I thought was the CCW Tha Heist. Its NOT the CCW Heist
Well all that went well and the bike was delivered and the MSO came a few days later. Still good.
I go to my local MVC/DMV (this is where all went ill for our hero) and find I cannot legally title and register the bike in NJ, NY or PA
i contacted the seller who after being on hold and cut off a number of times, each call being 40+ minutes.
They tell me its an error at my DMV try another. So i give it a shot.
i get shot down after 4hrs in the DMV they will not title the bike.
i contacted the HQ of the DMV in the state capital of Trenton, and they tell me that the bike is illegal to own in NJ.
Now the bike has all the EPA and NHTSA tags and I dig a bit deeper and get a lovely woman from the DMV to give me some answers. The WMI reg of the manufacturer of the DF250RTB Dong fang Bobber has lapsed since 2004 and the bike is illegal.
Now a bit disheartened I called the company again 40+ min on hold and speak with a supervisor who insisted the Bike was legal to own. i then spoke to her manager and they contacted Trenton MVC today.
i get a call at 3pm EST that I need to ship the bike back to CA because its illegal to have in the states.
they stated they will be refunding my money but only after they get confirmation its on a pallet and going back to CA (understandable)
Hopefully, as they stated, they will be refunding my money in 3 -5 business days
moral of this story always check your local DMV before making a purchase of unknown brand vehicle. Motorcycle or otherwise. get the correct WMI and verify with the NHTSA about legality
Shame to nice bike

Howdy, welcome to the forum. Did you try calling Cycle House in Forked River, Goodfellows in Williamstown, or Rock Star Customs in Maple Shade? They are the New Jersy Dealers for that bike.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience there, I'm sure everything will work out in the end. I have a few things to add but I'm pressed for time, will add more later but I wanted to say Hi before I had to run.

Re: Should've known better
High guys and thanks,
I actually got a call from PITmotorltd about all this, Real Nice guys we were on the phone for about 40+ minutes and Brett had read my posting on one of the boards that i am on.
They wanted to know how they could help. I think that was real stand up of them. He was more concerned if I had soured against the whole thing. To be honest i had'nt been on a bike for the last 10yrs up till a few weeks ago and the hassle left a bad taste in the mouth.
I told him i have the bug again and just cause one negative instance I'm not backing back down.
they invited me to their facility in Pennsauken NJ, to see the CCW Heist and show that it is a legal bike in the States, hell he even offered to buy me lunch and ship the other bike back for me.
I'm gonna take a run down there tomorrow and see what the Heist looks like and the feel of it
hopefully I'll be back to riding in the next couple weeks
