What Total Motorcycle doesn't do for $19,240 USD.

#1 Unread post by totalmotorcycle »

Total Motorcycle does a lot of great things to support motorcyclists and motorcycle worldwide. Our staff helps millions of riders each year through the community, we have thousands of pages of manuals, guides, handbooks online, everything is free to read online and much more...

But...

I thought you might be happy to know what we don't do.

We were approched this week to sell email address of any of our members. They offered $3.70 PER email we would cough up.

That's a lot of cash, we have 5200 members in this community forum.

That's ... 5200 x $3.70 = $19,240.

$19,240 is a lot of money to anyone. And anyone would be tempted to give out your information for that kind of cash.

Not us.

We respect your privacy and we don't give out your information, even for a lot of money. I'm sure that there are many sites that would have sold your information for $19,240 USD. But Total Motorcycle isn't one of them, we are most likely one of the very few who wouldn't.

So, thank you very much in making Total Motorcycle your virtual motorcycle destination.

Mike.

Thanks for showing more integrity than most. You're right that most websites would probably go for the money, but ultimately, that will signal the decline of the site. I'm a former member of several sites that sold my info.

Thanks for not taking the easy money.

Thanks much for that. I get enough junk mail as it is. One more reason to love this place!
