Does your city/town run a "driver awareness ad" fo

#1 Unread post by totalmotorcycle »

Every year around April/May here in Calgary, Alberta the city runs a motorcycle awareness ad to let car drivers know that the motorcyclists and motorcycles are back on the roads again. To watch out for them and to adjust their driving habits accordingly.

Calgary riding season is a short one, only 6 "warm" months so car drivers can get used to NOT seeing motorcycles on the road. While a rider can ride almost year round on a motorcycle in Calgary, it can present a danger as car drivers are not used to looking for a small motorcycle on the road.

I think it is a great idea to run a "motorcycle awareness ad" as it can only help bikers out there on the road.

So does your city/town run a "driver awareness ad" for bikers at the start of the riding season?

Mike.

Not quite true - the "think Bike" campaign is still happening, but quieter - there are still the car-stckers, and the signs up down Epperstone bypass. The only thing I havent seen for a while are the TV ads...
Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

If you never give up, you can never truly fail.

I've seen a few 'think bike' billboards around in Leicestershire on the roads - I think that might be because they cant afford to pay officers to go take them down though...
