gas tank
Anyone have some tips on removing the last of the gas from a tank. I'd like to paint , but don't want fuel slopping around or dripping while doing so.

Drain all of the gas out, open the cap and let it sit in the sun until it's all evaporated, mask off, sand, prime, paint, clearcoat.
I rinsed mine out with water and then immidiately set it in the sun to evaporate faster, you might have a rust issue with that option though.

you shouldn't ha ve any problem if you drain gas and let sit for a couple of hours. duct tape the gas cap and petcock (also fuel pump if injected) to keep out trash. Do not rinse with water as you WILL have a rust issue when you are done. If you need me contact me through:
