Should you ever move your bike without gear?

I never start my bike up when moving it around in a parking lot or gas station or whatever. I just push it around.

That was really a good example with clear images of the after effects(sorry for the wound though), I'll make sure I never do the kind of mistake with my bike.

Eh, the most I do is occasionally ride the bike into the garage. It's way easier to gas it up the threshold than push the bike up. Maybe a total of 10' and no way to drop the bike when it's in a doorway.

Taking a spin around the block? Full gear.

I'll move my bike around the inside of my garage or in the alley without gear or a very short distance without gear, say when I'm doing an oil change or working on the bike in some way, even polishing it, etc. But if I am going to be riding the bike (ie, turning it on to move it under it's own power) or going on any public property (ie road) then I'll put basic gear on (helmet, jacket).

It's up to you, I have dumped my bike myself by pushing it along side it (with gear on) along a street (when I did a left hand turn and I was on the right side of the bike, down she went).

Well it really doesn't hurt much LOL.... It is really important to wear your protective gear to at least prevent severe damage to yourself.
