I think BC's the only, or at least one of the only provinces to have this sort of setup, most other provinces have it fully privatized.

Well at least your guys state run health care system seems to work better than our privatized system. Seems that is one thing the government can do better than the private sector.

:LOL2: Yeah, right! They may diagnose your cancer in 1 day, but you have to wait 14 months for treatment to start. But that's O.K., your death in 9 months saves the taxpayers big bucks.

You said it's a beginner bike - get the minimum that you feel safe with.

I pay $80 / year with Geico because I have the state minimum coverage.

cgmoto wrote:I was looking at progressive and geico online quotes. For the coverage I I think I need the ranges seemed between $400-$700 per year (I don't own a car). Any comments on how much coverage is adequate? My bike is a starter bike so insuring it might not be worth it but the other stuff?
Just so happens I'm renewing as of March 9th

Policy
Liability 10/20
Property damage 10
Comprehensive & Collision ($500 deductable)

Current Carrier - Illinios National Ins (through AIG) $877 for the year
Progressive was $1120
Geico $1300

This is all with no tickets and no claims for at least four years.

Guess I'll stay with AIG. good news though, putting my car on the gf's insurance and reducing that policy by $400 a year!

You dumped the bike and reported it to insurance???? that hurts.

I'm currently getting ripped off by state farm (something like $960 a year). Im switching to Progressive, was quoted $360 per year for the same coverage.

At least around here if you don't have comprehensive and they don't pay out, they aren't allowed to jack up your rates. Unless you were at fault in a multi-vehicle accident.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
