When I think Honda I think of reliable, familiar, cool and safe.
When I think Yamaha I think piano, well tuned and smooth. And my XJR.
When I think Kawasaki I think of bosoku night riders.
When I think Suzuki I think cheaper, but street cool.

When I think of Kawasaki, I think great bikes but crappie electronics.
Always ask why.

Re: Japanese motorcycles and your initial thoughts
When I think Honda I think of reliability but at the cost of new technology.
When I think Yamaha I think of the the baseline standard all bikes should be.
When I think Kawasaki I think of great looking bikes and new technology. (but at the cost of reliability)
When I think Suzuki I think of affordable and fun.
