The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team celebrates its 29th one-two finish of the season in 34 races at the Estoril circuit, thanks to Nicolò Bulega and Iker Lecuona, who crossed the finish line in first and second place respectively.
Despite taking pole position and setting the circuit’s all-time lap record, the Italian rider did not get off to the best start and found himself battling Alex Lowes (Bimota) before launching his attack on his teammate.
Lecuona, meanwhile, made a brilliant start and immediately took the lead, but his race pace didn’t allow him to defend against the reigning World Champion.
Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
“It was a good race. Despite a slightly complicated start, I felt good, and that let me ride with confidence. The record for wins in a season? The approach is always the same: trying to win race by race.”
Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)
“I can’t say I’m particularly satisfied. Already from the second lap, I knew I wouldn’t have a chance against my teammate, who had stronger pace. We’ll study the data and try to do everything possible to put ourselves in a position to fight for the win tomorrow.”
