Stefano Manzi concluded the Cremona weekend today with an 11th-place finish in Race 2 at the Cremona Circuit, Italy, as the tenth round of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship came to a close. The 2025 WorldSSP Champion added further points to his rookie WorldSBK campaign, with just two rounds remaining in the season.
Following this morning’s Warm-Up, Manzi headed into the Superpole Race full of confidence. The Italian made a strong start, moving up to ninth position on the opening lap, but unfortunately ran wide at Turn 12 in the early stages, dropping several positions. After rejoining the race, Manzi continued to push and showed strong pace, but his efforts came to an end with four laps remaining when he crashed.
Manzi returned to action for Race 2 determined to fight for a strong result. After a decent getaway, the Italian showed consistent pace throughout the 23-lap contest, battling with the likes of Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) for a top-ten finish until the final stages. Manzi fought hard all the way to the chequered flag, eventually crossing the line in 11th place to secure further valuable points in his debut WorldSBK season.
On the other side of the garage, Remy Gardner was unfortunately declared unfit to race after presenting to the medical centre following Race 1 with worsening symptoms from his FP2 crash. After undergoing further assessment by the medical team, the Australian was diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone in his left hand.
The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team will be back in action in two weeks’ time for the penultimate round of the 2026 season at the Autódromo do Estoril in Portugal.

“Race 2 was a decent way to finish the weekend after an unfortunate Superpole Race. We started really strongly there, but unfortunately I ran wide at Turn 12 and lost the chance to fight for a good position. I tried to push and gather some valuable data, but I ended up crashing, so I’m sorry about that. Thankfully, I was able to come back strong in Race 2 and fight for the top ten until the very end. The pace was good and I was able to battle with Andrea (Locatelli) throughout the race. Let’s try to carry this momentum into the final two rounds.”

“Well, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to ride today. Following my crash in FP2, I was feeling okay and ready to race, so I lined up for Race 1 yesterday after also taking part in the Superpole session. Unfortunately, things got worse during the race and I started to feel more pain in my left hand, which didn’t improve afterwards. I then underwent further assessment by the medical team, and this morning I was diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metacarpal and declared unfit to race. I’m sorry about the situation, but now I need to fully focus on my recovery, as we’ll be back on track in two weeks. I’m confident I’ll be able to compete in Estoril, so let’s stay positive and see how the hand progresses. I’m looking forward to making a quick recovery and getting back on the bike.”
