Take the Road Less Traveled…

A sense of adventure

With its crisp, easy handling and relaxed upright riding position, this agile adventure bike comfortably commands the terrain. Whether you’re commuting in the urban jungle or touring uncharted territory, this is a bike that’s hungry for miles.

Ready for the challenge

Take the joy of the open road a lot further.

If you want to leave the day job far behind and go in search of adventure, then the new CB500X is the bike to take you there. Its all-new 500cc parallel twin features efficiency-driven Honda technology at its heart. It achieves class leading fuel economy of 80.2mpg giving a tank range of over 290 miles from its large 17.3-litre tank. So why not take a journey of discovery on the thrill seeking CB500X.

New discoveries

This ruggedly stylish bike has been built for the rigors of the open road. It is here that the CB500X really performs, with longer travel front suspension coping easily with rough country roads or cobbled city streets, giving the rider a real feeling of connection.

A strong performer

This bike has redefined the 500cc class and is a good all-rounder for commuting and weekend adventures. It is a bike you want to get out and ride and only its ABS brakes will stop you.

The world of adventure is never far away.

Ever since its introduction, Honda’s CB500X has been a breakaway favorite with riders. That’s no surprise to anybody who’s ridden one: the CB500X is an adventure-style motorcycle that delivers comfort, versatility and a can-do attitude at a surprisingly affordable price. And to make a great choice even better, the 2016 CB500X features a bucketful of improvements this year.

You still get plenty of performance, and the capability to excel at everything from adventure rides to sport touring. The torquey 471cc parallel-twin DOHC engine delivers the broad-spectrum power that Honda twins are famous for, while the CB500X’s upright handlebar naturally accommodates a wide variety of riders. You can adjust the compact windscreen to varying heights (plus it’s 100mm taller this year), and the larger-capacity fuel tank is carefully shaped to give the rider an unrestricted riding position. New for 2016: A restyled LED headlight and taillight, a hinged fuel-tank filler cap, front suspension that’s now adjustable for spring preload, and a front-brake lever that’s adjustable too.

The CB500X is an excellent choice for riders ready to move up a displacement class, or for anyone who appreciates a great middleweight motorcycle. And the bike’s sharp, new styling this year makes a great choice even better!

Powerful, Dependable Twin-Cylinder Engine

Displacing 471ccs, liquid cooled and featuring parallel cylinders with dual overhead cams, the CB500X’s powerplant is very efficient, especially with its performance-maximizing electronic Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI). Naturally, it shares Honda’s reassuring reputation for reliability.

Ready For Adventure

The CB500X is designed to give you a great view of the road and plenty of room to shift your weight for control and maneuverability. Utilizing a classic upright riding position with a wide handlebar, taller seat and a tighter knees-in fuel tank design, you can maximize your feeling of oneness with the bike and the road.

Innovation And Versatility.

Like the machines that made Honda famous in the U.S., its two-cylinder parallel-twin layout provides a wide powerband and plenty of torque, while a counterbalancer keeps things running smoothly. Special touches like the CB500X’s more upright seating position, greater ground clearance and longer wheelbase make it perfectly suited for an adventure-bike rider who values function and maneuverability.

Options & Pricing

If you could use a little more adventure in your life—and who couldn’t?—the CB500X can deliver on that idea at a surprisingly affordable price. That’s the beauty of owning an adventure-style bike like the CB500X—every time you look at this bike, it just about begs you to take it out in search of new roads, undiscovered places and fun sights to see. The CB500X is not just a great ride, it’s also equipped with a load of features that give it an extra dose of versatility, like the ABS version available for confident braking in less-than-ideal conditions.

2016 Honda CB500X ABS www.Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

Engine & Drivetrain

Smoother shifting

Improvements to the six-speed gearbox result in smoother, more-precise shifting.

Less friction, improved performance

The oil pump’s internal relief structure uses the same design as found in the CBR1000RR, which reduces friction, improves aeration performance and simplifies the shape of the oil pan.

Improved durability

The pins in the silent cam chain have been treated with vanadium, which both reduces friction and improves durability. The lightweight pistons use the same advanced manufacturing process as those found in the CBR600RRA. To ensure precise cylinder shape, the engine uses the same centrifugal-cast thin-wall sleeves as found in the CBR600RRA.

Reduced friction

A light and compact roller-rocker-arm assembly and shim-type valve adjustment allows a lower valve-spring load for reduced friction and a compact cylinder head.

Excellent efficiency

The four valves in each of the DOHC cylinder heads have narrow stems, thereby reducing weight and friction and increasing efficiency.

Maximized air-intake

In order to maximize air-intake and exhaust efficiency, the profile from the air cleaner through the intake ports to the exhaust pipe was made as straight as possible.

Runs smoothly at high output levels

Careful flow analysis of the cooling system resulted in a water pump that’s small and lightweight, yet still more than capable of keeping the engine running its best at high output levels.

Crisp throttle response

PGM-FI electronic fuel injection keeps the engine running efficiently in all conditions and ensures crisp throttle response.

Compact engine, minimal vibration

Engine vibration is kept to a minimum by using crank pins phased at 180 degrees and a balancer shaft behind the cylinders, which also contributes to the engine’s compact size.

Low-end torque & top-end performance

The DOHC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine uses a square bore & stroke of 67 mm (the same bore size as used on the CBR600RRA) x 66.8 mm for an optimum combination of strong low-end torque and horsepower and excellent top-end performance.

Chassis & Suspension

A perfect fit

New adjustable brake lever allows you to get the perfect fit for optimal comfort and control.

ABS braking control

A dual-piston brake caliper up front and a single-piston caliper at the back provide strong but easily controlled stopping power. Plus, ABS gives you extra peace of mind on reduced-traction road surfaces.

Reduced unsprung weight

Wave brake rotors with superlative heat-dissipating qualities are lighter than conventional discs of the same diameter, which help to further reduce the bike’s unsprung weight.

Lightweight wheels

Lightweight cast aluminum wheels with Y-shaped spokes not only look trick, they also contribute to the bike’s excellent manoeuvrability.

Adjustable fork

The front fork now offers spring-preload adjustment so you can tailor the ride just the way you want it.

Good rider balance at stops

The rear section of the frame was designed to facilitate a seat height of 810 mm, which allows most riders to easily plant their feet on the ground when stopped.

Comfortable & sporty ride

The Pro-Link rear suspension with preload-adjustable shock and the conventional 41 mm telescopic fork are calibrated for a comfortable but sporty ride.

Responsive with desired feedback

The lightweight diamond-shaped steel frame was designed to allow a certain degree of yield, which enables it to better respond to changes in the road surface and to transmit just the right amount of feedback to the rider.

Additional Features

Protection from above & below

The CB500X’s new bodywork includes a lower section that helps to protect the exhaust pipes and engine from stones and other debris when riding on rough surfaces.

Under-the-seat storage

A utility space under the seat accommodates a U-lock, wet weather gear or other items.

Larger fuel tank

The CB500X boasts a larger fuel tank for 2016, which combined with the fuel-efficient engine, means excellent range for plenty of riding fun between fill-ups.

Comfortable riding position

Ergonomics were carefully configured to ensure an unrestricted riding position that allows easy manoeuvring in town, an easy reach to the ground, as well as excellent comfort during long-distance highway trips.

Aggressive new look

Sleek new bodywork incorporates an LED headlight and taillight, plus an adjustable windshield that’s taller and vented for even better rider protection and aerodynamics.
