A Brand New Trike With Hot Rod Soul.
The new 2026 Harley-Davidson Road Glide 3 rewrites what a trike can be. It’s leaner, it’s meaner, and it’s built for all get out. A redesigned Sharknose fairing cuts a sharper profile over a planted, aggressive stance. A Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 motor is at the center of its hot-rod heart, and its brand new, completely redesigned rear suspension does two things: grip and go. The 12.3″ TFT with Skyline OS, along with LED lighting, Rider Safety Enhancements, and four selectable ride modes keep this one ready for street and strip.
“I took it out thinking I’d miss two wheels, but by the end of the ride I couldn’t stop smiling. It feels planted, sure. But it still has that attitude. It still feels alive.”
Wide and in Stride
Engineered for improved comfort and confidence, the 2026 Road Glide 3 combines a newly redesigned Sharknose fairing with the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 and an all-new suspension system tuned for smooth, planted handling. Skyline OS, LED lighting all around, and standard Rider Safety Enhancements turn touring precision into confidence that puts you wherever you want to be.
2026 Road Glide 3 channels hot rod DNA into a wider, meaner stance with a new rear suspension that drops 68 pounds of unsprung weight and doubles wheel travel for next-level performance. On top of that comes a new tank, fairing, and sculpted rear fenders that really set this bike apart from everything else in the lineup. Its re-engineered reverse drive is lighter and built into the chassis for easier backing out, while Skyline OS keeps music, maps, and control right where you want them: at your fingertips.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Trike lineup debuts an all-new, completely redesigned rear suspension setup with more than double the wheel travel, 68 lbs of reduced unsprung weight, and — *drum roll* — no more solid axle, giving riders what they’ve been begging for. Engineered for familiar performance, easy maintenance, and lasting durability, it redefines comfort and confidence on three wheels.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Trike lineup debuts a redesigned reverse system powered by the motor’s starter. By eliminating the old axle-mounted motor, it reduces unsprung weight for quicker and more consistent response. Easier, lighter, and more durable. It’s innovation you can feel, even in reverse.
Harley-Davidson’s Rider Safety Enhancements is all about giving you that extra peace of mind when things get a little unpredictable. It’s a set of smart tech that steps in during tricky situations, helping the bike handle traction while you’re accelerating, braking, or slowing down. THREE 2026 HARLEY-DAVIDSON TRIKE MODELS INTRODUCE ALL-NEW REAR SUSPENSION AND ELEVATE RIDER AND PASSENGER COMFORT
NEW Rear Suspension is designed to deliver an ideal combination of enhanced rider and passenger comfort and confident control over a variety of road surfaces and riding situations. Rider and passenger will experience a composed and planted feel on the straights and in corners, calmer steering, less fatigue, and overall improved confidence as they enjoy the genuinely plush ride.
- The new rear suspension offers a 117 percent increase in rear-wheel travel – from 2.3 inches to 5.0 inches (58.4mm to 127mm). The increased rear suspension travel allows the Trike to better absorb bumps and potholes while minimizing side-to-side rocking or “bump roll.” Less bump roll reduces required rider course correction at the handlebar even when encountering uneven pavement on sweeping, high-speed turns.
- The new suspension design replaces the previous live axle with a de Dion-type suspension. The cast aluminum de Dion axle connects the left and right wheels and acts as a trailing link to locate the wheels longitudinally (fore and aft).
- The axle is connected to the revised chassis at its forward point through a spherical joint that allows it to move up and down and to pivot relative to the chassis center line. If the right wheel moves upward the left will tilt at a similar angle but with little influence on the chassis or the rider and passenger.
- Unsprung weight is reduced by approximately 68 pounds, which permits the use of softer springs and shock absorber settings to fully utilize the increased suspension travel for rider and passenger comfort.
- The differential is now mounted directly to the chassis, removing its weight from the suspension.
- A new reverse drive system eliminates the weight of the previous electric reverse motor that was mounted on the rear axle.
- Power is transferred from the differential to the rear wheels through left and right half-shafts, each with inner and outer CV joints.
- The final belt drive sprocket is relocated from the axle to the chassis-mounted differential. In the event the belt must be replaced, this service may now be accomplished without removing the entire rear axle assembly from the vehicle, reducing the shop time required for this service from approximately 5.3 hours to 3.6 hours.
- A Watts linkage keeps the axle centered relative to the vehicle while permitting motion through its range of suspension. A stabilizer bar acts to control vehicle roll in turns.
- Left and right emulsion shock absorbers and coil springs provide suspension damping. The rear suspension preload may be adjusted for changes in passenger and gear weight using a knob conveniently placed below the left-side passenger footboard.
- The rear track is 1.5 inches (38.1mm) wider than the previous Trike to create the required clearance for the new wheel motion. The rear fenders were changed slightly to accommodate this range of motion and restyled to complement the other updated styled surfaces. The shape of the rear footboards is also changed to provide additional foot space for the passenger. Wheelbase is extended 1.6 inches (40mm) to maintain the desired front/rear weight distribution.
NEW Reverse System is powered by the engine starter motor, replacing the separate electric reverse motor found on Trike models through 2025. Reverse can be used by the rider to back a Trike model when parking or moving the vehicle in a garage. This new reverse system is significantly lighter than the previous system.
- The engine must be running to engage reverse. Step-by-step prompts on using reverse will appear on the infotainment touch screen
- To engage reverse, the rider stops with engine idling, shifts to 1st gear and then presses the dual-function Reverse/Start button. The motorcycle shift lever can then be depressed to engage reverse gear powered by the electric starter motor, rather than the internal combustion engine.
- After engaging reverse, the rider uses the throttle twist grip to select reverse motion.
- Twist grip actuation is similar to throttle control and facilitates better handlebar ergonomics for confident maneuvering.
- Reverse motion is either “on” or “off.” The speed of the Trike in reverse cannot be modulated through the throttle grip.
- Reverse motion is limited to 20-second intervals to protect the electric motor. Reverse is not intended to be used to move the Trike a long distance.
- A clutch between the electric reverse motor and its drive gear protects the system if the rider uses the vehicle brakes while the reverse motor is engaged.
- To disengage reverse the rider simply shifts the Trike back to first gear.
NEW Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 Engine
The new Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 engine powers the Road Glide 3 and Street Glide 3 Limited models. With more displacement, enhanced intake and exhaust flow, and variable valve timing (VVT) the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 engine offers up to 7.5 percent more torque and 13 percent more horsepower than the Milwaukee-Eight 114 powertrains in 2025 Trike models.
Milwaukee-Eight 117 VVT Specs
Displacement: 117 cubic inches (1923cc) Bore x Stroke: 4.075″ x 4.50″
Compression Ratio: 10.3:1 Fuel Octane Recommendation: 91
Torque: 129 lb. ft. (175 Nm) @ 3250 rpm
Horsepower: 105 HP/78 kW @ 4600 rpm
- Variable Valve Timing (VVT) broadens the overall powerband and improves city/highway average fuel efficiency by 2 percent to 3 percent compared to the same engine with fixed valve timing. The rider will feel improved low-end performance, ideal for passing, accelerating into traffic and climbing long mountain pass roads when laden with a passenger and gear.
- The cylinder head cooling system enhances engine cooling efficiency compared to the Milwaukee-Eight 114 powertrain, especially in low-speed riding situations and hot weather. Cylinder heads incorporate channels for coolant flow around the exhaust valve areas. An electric pump circulates coolant through the system to a heat exchanger backed by a thermostatically controlled fan located low on the front of the frame. The air flow from the fan is directed below the motorcycle for enhanced comfort, especially at low vehicle speeds.
- The charging system produces current capability at both idle and cruising speeds to support popular accessories while maintaining optimal battery health. Charging output is 58 peak amps, a 21 percent increase in charging power compared to 2025 models with the Milwaukee-Eight 114 powertrain.

Brand New Sharknose Fairing
The Road Glide 3’s redesigned Sharknose fairing channels air cleanly around the rider and cuts through headwinds with less buffeting and more intent. The low-profile smoked windscreen keeps the look lean and aggressive while staying true to the Road Glide shape riders know by heart.
Gloss Black Cast Wheels
New cast-aluminum wheels finished in Gloss Black with machined accents give the Road Glide 3 a sharper edge and a stronger stance. Exposed rear lug nuts nod to classic hot-rod styling and offer pure function with a little attitude built in.
Redesigned Rear Fenders
Wider, reshaped rear fenders flow clean with the trike’s new chassis, giving the Road Glide 3 a broader stance and tougher look from every angle. Subtle surface changes and tighter fitment tie the design together with a low, purposeful attitude.
All-LED Lighting, Front to Back
From the signature headlamp to the rear, LEDs deliver bright, quick-responding illumination that enhances visibility and modern definition. See and be seen on late nights and long days with lighting integrated cleanly into the trike’s assertive stance.
Trunk Access + Passenger Comfort
A weather-sealed rear trunk swallows essentials through a top-mounted door, while the redesigned seat, reshaped passenger footboards, and soft-touch passenger grab handles keep miles easy. It’s practical where it matters and premium where you feel it—confidence and comfort for long hauls.
Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 Motor
The Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 puts out strong, steady torque across the powerband for quick response from the Variable Valve Timing (VVT)technology, delivering the kind of pull that’ll keep you grinning from ear to ear. Twin slash-down pipes give it a low, throaty sound that smacks right where it should: smooth when you’re cruising, mean when you get on it.
Completely Redesigned Rear Suspension
Engineered for trike dynamics, the new de Dion-style rear suspension replaces the previous live-axle design for a smoother, more planted ride. A redesigned chassis with dual emulsion shocks and a Watts linkage doubles wheel travel from 2.3 inches to 5 inches while cutting 68 pounds of unsprung weight. The wider rear track adds grip and stability through corners and confidence across rough pavement.
Remote Preload Adjustment
Quickly dial in your setup for solo rides, passengers, or cargo using the conveniently relocated preload adjuster positioned below the left-side passenger footboard. Tool-free access makes it easy to fine-tune suspension response and maintain confident handling while you’re out there gettin’ after it.
NEW Integrated Reverse Drive
The new reverse is built into the chassis-mounted differential, ditching the old electric motor and its extra weight. It’s tighter, tougher, and built to back you out like a pro.
Skyline OS 12.3” Display with H-D Audio
A 12.3-inch TFT display powered by Skyline OS brings maps, media, and bike settings to your fingertips. The glove-friendly interface and integrated H-D Audio system built into the fairing deliver clean, crisp sound that holds its own against wind and freeway noise.
Rider Safety Enhancements
Confidence tech works quietly in the background: ELB/C-ELB, ABS/C-ABS, TCS/C-TCS, TPMS and DSCS/C-DSCS. Together they help manage traction, braking, and chassis behavior, backing up your inputs in straights and in corners without dulling the experience.
Selectable Ride Modes
Switch between four factory-tuned ride modes designed to match your mood and the conditions ahead. Road mode balances response for everyday miles, Rain softens inputs for low-traction surfaces, Sport sharpens throttle and engine braking for a more aggressive, connected feel, and Custom lets you dial in your own setup for the way you ride.
Electronic Linked Braking (ELB)
This feature electronically applies braking effort to both wheels when the rider applies the front brake lever and, on some models when the rider applies the rear brake pedal. ELB can help many riders achieve better braking performance. It boosts braking power when needed while minimizing or stopping the linking for lighter braking or at lower speeds.
Traction Control System (TCS)
The TCS is designed to keep the rear wheel from “spinning out” when the motorcycle is accelerating in a straight line and enhances rider confidence.
Drag-Torque Slip Control System (DSCS)
DSCS is designed to reduce excessive rear-wheel slip and help prevent rear-wheel lock under powertrain-induced deceleration, which typically occurs when the rider makes an abrupt downshift gear change or quickly reduces the throttle while on wet or slippery road surfaces.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
TPMS alerts the rider through the information display to low or high tire air pressure. Maintaining proper tire air pressure is important both for vehicle performance and tire life.
Cornering Enhanced Anti-lock Brake System (C-ABS)
C-ABS is a variant of ABS that takes into consideration the lean angle of a two-wheel motorcycle, or the lateral acceleration of a Trike model. The brake pressure required to limit wheel slip when cornering is typically or lower than the pressure required under straight line operation.
Cornering Enhanced Electronic Linked Braking (C-ELB)
C-ELB takes into account the motorcycle lean angle or Trike lateral acceleration. C-ELB will alter the proportioning of brake pressure between the front and rear brakes when braking while cornering in an attempt to improve the ability of the bike to maintain the rider’s intended path.
Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS)
C-TCS is designed to prevent the rear wheel from excessive spinning under acceleration when going straight or cornering.
Cornering Drag-Torque Slip Control System (C-DSCS)
On bikes equipped with C-DSCS, the system helps keep the rear wheel from slipping or locking up when you quickly downshift or let off the throttle, especially on wet or slippery roads. When turning, it can adjust based on how much a two-wheel bike is leaning or the side-to-side motion on a Trike.
