2027 will bring more than just new colors
Character, re-imagined
New colors, new tech, new editions: For the 2027 model year, BMW Motorrad is bringing significantly more than just a fresh lick of paint to the streets. Color updates and graphics meet performance highlights from the world of racing. On top of that, there are new editions that create a new kind of character that can be felt in the design and equipment. Which version suits your tastes?
Born on the racetrack
The new M Motorsport frame of the BMW M 1000 RR
Straight from the WorldSBK to the streets: The BMW M 1000 RR will feature the new M Motorsport frame as standard for model year 2027. The high-tech frame, which is produced using a sand casting process, is 3.3 lbs lighter than the previous version and is clearly designed for optimal performance. Increased precision, quicker acceleration and a palpable boost to stability – racing technology without compromises.
The Edition M Sport
The BMW S 1000 RR Edition M Sport in Blackstorm metallic/M Motorsport
With the Edition M Sport, the S 1000 RR is edging noticeably closer towards the M 1000 RR, both in its presence and its vision. The Blackstorm metallic paintwork with striking graphics in the iconic Motorsport colors enhances its racing character. Performance and design highlights, such as the Dynamics and Race packages, as well as the M Carbon package and the M Billet pack, all come together to create an uncompromising total package.
New edition models for the Tourers
BMW K 1600 GTL Edition II
The BMW K 1600 GTL is being given a fresh new look in Imperial Blue Metallic with the Edition II. This gives a confident presence like never before. However, the focus is on the total package: Elaborate graphics create striking accents – in Monolith Metallic Matte for the GTL. Complemented by rim graphics, an Edition badge and particularly high-quality seats, we have created an Edition that rises head and shoulders above the rest of the series.
BMW K 1600 B and Grand America Edition II
The BMW K 1600 B Edition II and the BMW K 1600 Grand America Edition II have also been given a fresh lick of paint in Imperial Blue Metallic. For an even more confident ride and a striking silhouette. Elegant hand-drawn linework in Overcast white creates subtle accents and emphasizes the sophisticated character of the impressive Tourer.
A new look and an off-road upgrade
The exclusive Option 719 Hematite in the new Frozen Brooklyn Gray Metallic color scheme reinterprets the R 12 G/S in an entirely new way. Accents in Racing Red and Mineral Gray Metallic Matte enhance its striking character, as does the new red seat, which is designed to complement the frame perfectly. For all those not only looking for adventure, but also an exciting design.
2027 BMW M1000RR Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits
The bike of champions
Motorsport with the BMW M 1000 RR
The M RR celebrates victories on the racetracks of the world. BMW racers and team trust in the uncompromising performance of the superbike. The M RR can often be found in first place at the WorldSBK, the FIM Superbike Championship, and the FIM Endurance World Championship, as well as in road racing.
High-quality M Billet pack
Performance detail: M Brake Ducts
Optimized winglets for maximum control
Striking front with windscreen
Lightweight M Carbon wheels with graphic design
Slip-Slide Control
Weight-optimized full titanium exhaust system
Everything in hand: the steering angle sensor
Ride like you’re in a slipstream
The redesigned front and side trim panels provide enhanced performance. Additionally, the optimized aerodynamics relieve strain on the rider by reducing the wind pressure they are subjected to: for endurance and fast, focused riding. The revised M Winglets Evolution 3.0, on the other hand, increase the pressure on the front wheel, even when in a lean angle, and generate up to 33% more downforce than the prior model, equating to up to 66 lbs. For even more confidence in low lean angles and high-speed bends.
Ride like your idol
Top performance is always reliant on the materials. That’s why we have installed numerous equipment items as standard with the model update. For example, the steering angle sensor with Slide Control and Brake Slide Assist, the quick action throttle that shortens the throttle path by 14 degrees, or the M Brake Ducts, that provide an enhanced airflow around the fork legs to cool the brake calipers.
Images with dynamic riding scenarios with the M 1000 RR from BMW Motorrad on the racetrack
The best possible feel for the front and rear wheels and breathtaking, pinpoint accuracy: The heart of the chassis is an aluminum bridge frame, which also includes an upside-down fork and a central spring strut with Full Floater Pro kinematics, providing great chassis performance. Consistently and uncompromisingly geared to help you achieve the best race times, its chassis also impresses those perfectionists taking to the road in search of adrenaline.
High performance – also a question of tuning
What sets a true winner apart is their ability to apply their potential during those critical milliseconds: The M RR Launch Control gives you the perfect start to the race, and the Pit Lane Limiter knows when to control the power. The Shift Assistant Pro helps you shift gears fast, without actuating the clutch for every gear change. The gearshift pattern can then be simply reversed for racing. Additionally, the 7 riding modes, two adjustable throttle characteristics, ABS Pro, DTC, engine drag torque control, and the triple-adjustable engine drag torque also enhance the bike’s performance. The 6.5″ TFT display makes everything easy to read.
“With the new frame, I’m faster and can achieve better lap times.” Michael van der Mark, Race rider
The new M Motorsport frame
Straight from the WorldSBK to the streets: The M 1000 RR is now equipped with the M Motorsport frame as standard. The high-tech frame, which is produced using a sand casting process, is 3.3 lbs and is designed for optimal performance without compromises.
In addition to the previous components from professional motorsports, the M 1000 RR with the M Motorsport frame offers even more thoroughbred racing technology. Thanks to its architecture designed for optimal rigidity, the M Motorsport frame allows for more precise steering, stable lines, enhanced acceleration efficiency and improved control when braking in a curve.
Its racing character is also on display with the improved flex-balance of the entire design, which allows for earlier acceleration, a lower lean angle and more traction.
The engraved M logo and RR identification at the swingarm pivot on the main frame exudes racing character and a sense of exclusivity.
When every millimeter counts – including in the engine
Images of the redesigned cylinder head of the BMW M 1000 RR
The short engine with BMW ShiftCam technology has a maximum rotational speed of 15,100 rpm and has proven itself in the WSBK. Since we’re never fully satisfied, we have further optimized the engine with numerous details, including the cylinder head, the piston geometry, valve guide, and airbox. You might not be able to see the difference but you’ll definitely feel it.
Uncompromising acceleration – but the other way
After years of use in various race series and on the racetracks of the world, the following still applies to the M brake: Best in class. Because the enhanced M brake ducts cool the brake calipers by up to 10 degrees while racing – depending on the racetrack – for even higher performance and a more constant resistance point. The perfectly coordinated operating element and saddle continues to mean maximum brake stability, clear feedback, and the best adjustment to Race ABS. The M brake is and remains the best reference.

Two versions, one goal: pure performance
The M RR is available in two versions: both are available with the optional M Track package and have one clear goal: victory. They stand for absolute dedication and a drive to achieve top performance.
Light white/M Motorsport
The M RR is a superbike homologated for racing. It has everything it needs to go fast, making it ideal for racing teams.
Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport
A presence that demonstrates exclusivity and performance at the first glance: This is where aesthetics and uncompromising racing technology come together.
The M Track package
Racing meets aesthetics. The M Track package is available for both color variants and includes numerous Performance parts that have earned the right to wear the “M”. These include the M Carbon wheels, carefully selected and high-quality covers made with visible carbon surfaces, M winglets and an M Carbon tail-hump cover, which are all part of the included M Carbon package. It also includes the M Billet pack, containing M brake and clutch levers, M rider footrests, and more. Moreover, the M Track package also gives you the M Endurance chain, and an anodized rear swing arm (clear windscreen only is only available in the U.S.)
