2027 Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

Developed in racing competition to take Ducati’s racing DNA off the asphalt, the new Desmo450 MX – like every Ducati, can be upgraded choosing from a wide range of accessories developed to enhance its performance and bring it even closer to the riding style and needs of its riders, both amateurs and professionals.

Maximum performance
True to its philosophy of developing solutions and technologies in racing to then offer to enthusiasts, Ducati worked through the Corse Offroad department to allow the owners of the Ducati450 MX to bring their bike closer to those fielded in the World Championship with Mattia Guadagnini and Jeremy Seewer.

The complete titanium exhaust system (96480261AA) is designed to optimize the performance of the single-cylinder engine with desmodromic distribution of the Desmo450 MX, ensuring an even fuller power curve and a wider range of use. Made of a special titanium alloy and with the utmost attention to the thicknesses of each section, it allows a weight saving of 1.7 kg compared to the standard system, while remaining within the noise limits imposed by FIM and AMA.

Motocross races can often be decided at the first corner, and to take full advantage of the Desmo450 MX engine performance when the gate drops, the holeshot device (96282211AA) is essential: by preloading the fork, it lowers the front end of the bike and reduces its tendency to wheelie, allowing for blistering starts.

Moving on to the chassis, the Ducati Performance rims (96380281AA) stand out for their reinforced self-braking spokes, so as to guarantee greater resistance combined with CNC-machined and black anodized 7075-T6 aluminium hubs. The channels are Excel, also anodized in black.

Further chassis improvements can come from the racing front (96180161AA) and rear (96180171AA) brake calipers, developed in collaboration with Brembo, characterized by their CNC-machined and hard-anodized aluminium construction. Or even from the triple clamps machined from solid (97381251AA), for maximum precision in front suspension response.

Total configurability
Performance is also achieved thanks to the ability of the bike to adapt to the needs of the rider and the track. The Wi-Fi module (96581321AA) allows you to customize the intervention of the electronic controls of the Desmo450 MX via the Ducati X-Link app. Simply connect your smartphone to be able to adjust the Throttle Response, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Traction Control and Launch Control parameters.

Not only that: it is also possible to view in real time the data relating to engine rpm, throttle opening, air and coolant temperature, atmospheric pressure and any error messages. The engine hour, oil change and service counters can also be checked from the app, while a special section recommends the best suspension adjustments based on the type of track, the weight of the rider and his level of experience.

Staying on the subject of setup, among the original accessories there are also the fork springs (96281251AA) and monoshock (96281231AA) with different elastic constants than the standard ones to optimize the behaviour of the bike in relation to the weight of the rider.

Similarly, Ducati Performance offers various solutions to adapt the final transmission ratio to different circuits. In addition to the 520-size chain with O-Ring (97280001AA) that combines resistance, lightness and the best transmission of power from the engine to the rear wheel, different toothings are available for the sprocket and crown. For example, instead of the standard Z13-Z49 solution, you can opt for a Z14 sprocket (97280031AA) and a Z50 crown (97280051AA), the latter made of Ergal and CNC milled for optimal lightening.

Absolute control
The maximum control of the rider over the mechanical vehicle is another key element in expressing the best lap times, as well as making performance more consistent throughout an entire race. Among the accessories for the Desmo450 MX there is also a racing seat (96881621AA), derived directly from the one used in the Motocross World Championship. The special material of the covering is designed to hold the rider during the acceleration phases of the bike, while allowing him to slide forward without problems when necessary.

A perfect complement is the Renthal Fatbar handlebar (96281151AA), with a diameter of 28.6 mm in the central part, which narrows to 22 at the grips, thus offering the best combination of resistance and flexibility. Constructed in 7010-T6 aluminium, it is offered in the version with 604 bend.

Two different options are also available for the rubber grips enriched with aramid fibre particles: G089 (96281201AA) or G165 (96281261AA). Both must be mounted in combination with a new throttle control tube (96281211AA), designed for traditional and non-lock-on grips.
To complete this kit, there are also essential guards to protect the bike from the abuse of a hard day on the dirt and rocks. The plastic skid plate (97181511AA), for example, protects the lower part of the crankcase and frame, while the protective grilles for the radiators (97181541AA) prevent mud and sand from accumulating on them, reducing their efficiency. The front brake disc and the air filter can also be protected with special guards (97181551AA and 96080241AA) for use in the most severe conditions.

Aesthetics and functionality
There is no shortage of additional components designed to combine functionality and aesthetics, such as hydraulic fluid reservoir covers for the front brake and clutch (96180131AA), or tank caps (97780181AA) and engine oil filler caps (97380171AA), all in CNC-machined and black anodized aluminium.

Finally, whether you are working on the bike between sessions or showing it off in your garage, a lightweight plastic stand (97080221AA) and a mat (97580311AA), both customized with the Ducati Corse logos and colours, help to create the ideal environment.

Clothing
Finally, to complete the Factory look, Ducati Performance offers an entire technical collection created in collaboration with Drudi Performance. The offer consists of a complete Alpinestars jersey/pants/gloves/boots set, Arai helmet, wind vest, softshell and Spidi rain jacket.
