2027 Kawasaki Z900SE ABS Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

A HEROIC STANCE
Featuring standout Sugomi™ styling, the Z900 ABS supernaked has a noticeably aggressive fuel tank cover, shrouds, and under cowls that form the distinct Z silhouette. These impeccably sharp accents contribute to a raw, yet refined image that’s not afraid to look the hero.

THE FACE OF SUGOMI™
This supernaked is the most evolved iteration of Sugomi™ yet. Hear from Kawasaki Motors 2025 Z900 Styling Designer, Yu Shibuta, on the face of Sugomi.

IT STARTS WITH SUGOMI™
Sugomi™ is defined as the intense aura given off by a person or object with great power. Infused with this philosophy, the imposing form of the Z900 ABS supernaked is centered around the powerful 948cc in-line 4-cylinder engine. The low-positioned, aggressive front end and upswept tail cut a dynamic, crouching posture that results in a stunning, visceral impact even when parked. Heroic and menacing all in one, the original streetfighter stands confidently in Sugomi style, untouched by the competition.

SYMMETRY IN MOTION
One look at the Z900 ABS reveals its striking symmetry. Both form and function are elegantly blended, from the angular cues of the front fascia to the bold lines of the body and upswept tail, with a stylish rear seat that complements the tail cowl. Brushed aluminum shrouds engraved with the “Z” logo and metallic accents add premium refinement throughout, resulting in a finished look as sharp as its Sugomi™ performance.

THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT
The triple LED headlight design, LED license plate lamp, and sharp front and rear LED turn signals are aggressively designed and unmistakable. An advanced LED taillight design completes the all-LED lighting package, featuring a cutting-edge, 3D appearance while delivering a high-grade, luxurious look that points to the future.

EQUIPPED FOR THE MODERN AGE
Equipped with a suite of high-grade electronics and rider aids, the Z900 ABS supernaked merges raw power with cutting-edge technology. This results in a motorcycle fit for the modern age, while continually charging forward.

INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT
IMU-equipped electronic riding support technology brings advanced capability to Z for the ultimate riding experience. Using Bosch’s compact Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), inertia is monitored along 6 Degrees of Freedom. Acceleration along longitudinal, transverse, and vertical axes, plus roll rate and pitch rate are measured. The yaw rate is calculated using Kawasaki’s proprietary dynamic modeling software.

Input from the 6-axis IMU adds greater precision to Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), enabling the additional function of corner braking management. By calculating the motorcycle’s lean angle, IMU feedback helps modulate brake force for any sudden erratic movements or slippage in a corner, assisting in holding your intended line through the turn. When slowing in a straight line, IMU-enhanced ABS also helps manage pitching to suppress rear-wheel lift under heavy braking.

KAWASAKI CORNER MANAGEMENT FUNCTION
Kawasaki Corner Management Function (KCMF) helps modulate brake force and engine power for more precise control through corners. KCMF helps facilitate a smooth transition from accelerating to braking and accelerating again, assisting in tracing your intended line through the turn.

FULL-COLOR. FULL ATTENTION.
A 5-in TFT full-color meter features 2 display types. Type 1 shows a bar-style tachometer along the top with vital vehicle information and turn-by-turn directions below if navigation is in use. Type 2 shows a hexagonal tachometer with either an aviation-style attitude indicator icon that displays lean angle in real-time or turn-by-turn directions in the center. The display can show turn-by-turn navigation to give you a simple indication of the direction and distance to the next turn, adding to convenience and riding enjoyment.

“HEY KAWASAKI, SWITCH TO SPORT MODE.”
Technology within the instrument panel lets you connect to the motorcycle wirelessly. Using RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE†, several instrument functions can be accessed allowing you to view vehicle info, riding log, phone notifications, display settings, set riding modes, turn-by-turn navigation, and voice commands.

KAWASAKI TRACTION CONTROL
Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) system provides both enhanced sport riding performance and the confidence to negotiate low-traction surfaces. Three rider-selectable modes offer progressively greater levels of intrusion to suit the riding situation and your preference:
– Mode 1 provides the least amount of assistance with sport riding in mind.
– Mode 2 offers earlier assistance and features balanced sport riding support.
– Mode 3 offers the most assistance, allowing you to navigate challenging road conditions with confidence.

POWER STANCE
A choice between Full Power or Low Power modes allows you to set power delivery to suit preference and conditions. Low Power mode limits output to approximately 75% of Full Power for enhanced manageability.

READY FOR ANYTHING
Integrated riding modes link KTRC settings and Power Modes, allowing you to easily set traction control and power delivery to suit your given riding situation and optimize your riding experience. Select between Sport, Road, Rain, or Manual to tailor the ride to conditions and preferences. The riding mode can be changed while riding, using the buttons located on the left handle.

A CLASS OF ITS OWN
The original streetfighter cuts a sharp edge in the supernaked class with an arsenal of performance features. This level of tactical precision results in the ultimate supernaked riding experience, exhilarating the senses from every angle.

A POSITION OF POWER
The powerful 948cc in-line 4-cylinder engine has a quick-revving character, and a strong mid-range hit that pulls strongly to the redline. Adding to rider exhilaration, a distinct intake note encourages the rider to twist the throttle. Silky smooth power delivery facilitates control while contributing to rider comfort and confidence. Precise control from the electronic throttle valves contribute to smooth, linear acceleration, giving riders added confidence and enjoyment when cornering.

KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER
Allowing you to take even greater advantage of the exhilarating engine character, the dual-direction Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless acceleration and easy deceleration. KQS functions from as low as 1,500 rpm, making shifts at slower riding speeds smooth and comfortable, which is especially beneficial when riding in town. Transmission gear ratios are optimized to work in tune with KQS for incredibly smooth function.

SPORT RIDING SUPREME
Optimized suspension settings front and rear help create a more forward-leaning stance. A more planted feel from the front end translates to more composed, nimble feeling through corners, even across bumps and gaps. This noticeably lightweight handling brings even more enjoyment to sport riding.

PRECISE. RESPONSIVE. STRONG.
The Z900 ABS chassis is lightweight, narrow, and strong—designed to deliver a visceral and intuitive sport-riding experience. Command the Z900 ABS with confidence as it responds to your input with precise and responsive handling. With Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires, handling is boosted with optimal grip to the road.

SO CLUTCH
An Assist & Slipper Clutch provides a light feel at the lever, and a back-torque limiting function that helps prevent rear-wheel hop during more aggressive downshifts.

SUPERNAKED STOPPING POWER
Dual radial-mounted opposed 4-piston front brake calipers and 300mm front brake discs contribute to powerful braking, connected feel at the lever, and light pull for precise control during sport riding.

ATTACK POSITION
The riding position of the Z900 ABS supernaked places you in command. Relaxed ergonomics promote upright posture and head-up visibility, fusing you and the machine for an “in” the bike riding sensation like no other. More forward, more agile—ready to pounce.

GREAT COMMUNICATOR
The relationship between pegs, seat, and handlebars was designed to enhance communication between you and the machine, giving you a confidence-inspiring feeling of control that complements its agile handling. This is the sweet spot between relaxed and ready to pounce.

POISED TO ATTACK
A fat-type aluminum handlebar offers improved rigidity, featuring a wide grip that places your shoulders in “attack position” and hands at-the-ready for a posture that stays in command, and in control.

FIRST-CLASS SEAT
The high-quality seat has a flat profile to allow the rider to shift around and take a variety of riding positions for increased comfort, especially on longer rides. The seat also has rounded edges on the sides for more comfort and an easy reach to the ground, while its optimized shape also allows the rider to easily shift their weight during sport riding.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
Both clutch and brake levers are 5-way adjustable and accommodate a variety of hand sizes for optimal control.

VISCERAL RIDING EXPERIENCE
ALL SENSES FIRING
Thrilling, lively, and full of attitude, the visceral performance and design of the Z900 ABS supernaked awakens the senses with every ride, and long after the ride is over.

SEE AND BE SEEN
Sporty upright riding position and minimalist bodywork promote a forward view and place you in the environment for heightened excitement and intensity.

TACTILE SENSATION
Constructed from high-tensile steel, the strong trellis frame contributes to lightweight and responsive handling. Along with highly capable suspension settings, the horizontal back-link rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the lightweight aluminum swingarm to deliver sporty performance, comfort, and real-time feedback to you.

EXHILARATING SOUND
The infectious intake sound evokes the senses with every twist of the throttle. With a design based on acoustic tests, the airbox is shaped to deliver an intake howl that is unmistakably Z.

ANOTHER LEVEL OF Z
The Z900 SE ABS takes the ultimate supernaked platform and raises the bar. This Special Edition model showcases high-grade performance and design features that further ignite the Sugomi™ spirit.

GOOD AS GOLD
An Öhlins S46 rear shock with remote preload adjuster features an aluminum body with single-tube construction, large 46mm piston, and separate air and gas chambers, resulting in a superior sense of grip and handling. High-grade fork features compression and rebound damping adjustability along with stepless preload adjustability, enabling precise settings to suit rider preference. Gold-colored fork outer tubes complement the Öhlins rear suspension, all of which take the stunning performance and image of the Z900 to even higher levels.

REVOLUTIONARY STOPPING POWER
Powerful and precise braking performance comes from an exceptional front brake package upgrade, featuring Brembo M4.32 radial-mount monobloc calipers and pads, 300mm Brembo brake discs, steel braided brake lines, and a Nissin radial-pump master cylinder.

DESIGNED TO DEFY
The Z900 SE ABS features a high-quality 2-tone urethane seat with a real-leather-look. Also, in a Kawasaki first—hand-stitched-style sewing line along the sides of the seat offer an ultra-premium appearance that stands to be envied.

POWER UP YOUR DEVICES
A USB-C outlet mounted inside the front cowl offers a convenient and discreet power source for personal electronics.
