Roberts Secures Hard Fought Podium at Technical Glen Helen WHS

Round four of the AMA West Hare Scrambles Regional Championship Series brought a grueling, highly technical challenge to Glen Helen Raceway, where Liqui Moly Beta’s Zane Roberts put together a resilient performance to claim third overall. Roberts got an excellent jump off the line aboard his Beta Factory 480 RR, entering the famous Talladega first turn wheel-to-wheel with the front runners. However, after choosing an inside line on the opening hill climb that ultimately left him shuffled back, he was forced to battle through a wall of brutal, blinding dust. The loop proved to be exceptionally demanding, packed with tight, first-gear single-track sections that left zero room for error over the two-and-a-half-hour grind. Despite losing touch with the leaders in the early laps while fighting the heavy dust and technical terrain, Roberts settled into a relentless pace to comfortably lock down a third-place finish in the premier Pro/AA division, keeping himself firmly in the thick of the championship hunt.

“Glen Helen this weekend was a bit of a struggle for me! After some poor line choice on the start I was shuffled back to 4th as we immediately went into the dusty ridge sections of the race. From there I lost a ton of time battling the dust. Eventually things spread out a bit and I got to work trying to pass for 3rd, unfortunately it was still extremely difficult with all the dust and took me multiple laps to make it happen, at which point the leaders were already minutes ahead. Kind of just settled in from there and finished out the race. On to a couple more rounds before summer break!”
