I was born a mile from it’s shores. But what Lake Ontario does offer is incredible motorcycle riding, roads, wineries, weather and scenery. The 2026 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP was the star of the Superbike show at the 2026 Isle of Man TT races. In his 30th year of racing at the TT, John McGuinness MBE was honoured by Honda Racing UK with a racing livery that nodded all the way back to where it began. The Honda RS250 from 1996 displayed John’s career long sponsor and friend Paul Bird Motorsport. The distinctive green number board used on the 2026 bike is a period correct throwback to what was used in the lightweight class ’96. With split throttle bodies, a 999cc liquid cooled inline four cylinder engine producing 214bhp, a swingarm derived directly from the RC213V-S, HRC developed aero, a six-axis internal measurement unit and an Akrapovic developed Titanium exhaust leaves the owner in no doubt at all of the potential the motorcycle has.

Lake Ontario Existed before the USA
Ok, so let’s dig into this silliness about renaming Lake Ontario, a lake that is shared 50/50 between the boarders of Canada and the USA. Here are 3 maps showing Lake Ontario from 1703, 1757 and 1774. So far Google and the US Mapping Service has changed the name (as I far as I know to date), shame on them. We all know that Google sucks as a company anyways since they got rid of their “Do No Evil” mantra years ago.
In 1703, King Louis XIV had this map drawn. There were no USA. But there was Canada, Quebec and Lake Ontario. France carried on the name given to the water expanse by the people who lived in Canada at the time. As Ontario was good enough for all the Kings and Queens, Prime ministers and Presidents since.
