24H SERIES SEASON KICKS OFF WITH THE 24-HOUR RACE DUBAI!
The motorsport season 2018 gets underway next weekend with the traditional 24-Hour race in Dubai, and just as they were in the last two years, KTM is present with the X-BOW GT4 and two customer teams. The team from “CCS-Racing” starts with the X-BOW BATTLE-experienced drivers Charel Arendt, Holger Baumgartner, Tom Kieffer and Uwe Schmidt, while “KTM MMotorsport Australia” is there with their quartet of Justin McMillan, Glen Wood, Nico Pronk and Peter Kox. Both vehicles start in the SP2 class, and despite extremely powerful opponents that include many GT3- and Porsche Cup cars, they are hoping for the best possible position in the overall classification. More information, the live stream and live timing for the 24-Hour race Dubai is available here!

THE X-BOW BATTLE SEASON 2018 STARTS IN FOUR MONTHS!
It’s not long before the start of the 2018 KTM X-BOW one-make trophy season on the first weekend in May, to be exact, on May 4-5, 2018. That’s when the action begins with races in the Elite and GT4 classes on the undulating circuit of Brno (Czech Republic). The Rookies Challenge is due to start on May 24-25, 2018 where there will be plenty of action at KTM’s home race at Austria’s Red Bull Ring – with four races on the same weekend! The various classes will then all compete on the remaining race weekends at the Slovakiaring, Salzburgring, Pannoniaring and in Misano. The especially good news is the return of the Salzburgring to the program, which sees the one-make trophy for Austria’s only super sports car start twice in the brand’s home country. The season’s finale is at Misano, included in the calendar following a very positive response after last year’s races at the circuit. The Italian venue is a worthy backdrop for the 2018 Grand Finale. Everything more or less stays the same as regards to technical matters and sporting regulations, and event organizer Georg Silbermayr is counting on continuity. “We have a super positive atmosphere in all the classes, the preparation is in full swing, and I am certain that in 2018 we will have a full field of starters, and will experience fantastic and exciting motorsport in all classes.

KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN IN 2018 ALSO WITH PERMIT B!
March will see the start of the second season of the KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN, as part of the VLN on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The most significant and important change concerns what was the difficult existing situation regarding the permit. Until now the KTM X-BOW GT4 was only able to compete in the Cup competition with a Permit A. Thanks to an agreement with the DMSB, the X-BOW can also be raced in the VLN from 2018 on with a Permit B. The vehicle is to have additional weight and revised engine electronics with less power to achieve the specified power-to-weight ratio. There will be an own results rating for the Permit B starters, and a change from B to A category during the season is naturally possible. It will also be possible for teams to be on the start for the highlight of the season, the 24-hour Race Nürburgring, in vehicles that have Cup specification. KTM will also take over the subsequent motor and transmission overhaul for all teams competing in the 24-Hour race. KTM is also further strengthening its customer service. In addition to the proven onsite spare parts service and the technical delegate, who checks compliance within the technical regulations in cooperation with the race stewards and acts as the middleman between Cup team and officials, there will also be a KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN LOUNGE”. This venue will serve as a meeting place and hub for all the teams. Last but not least, there is ongoing cooperation with our tire partner MICHELIN. Extremely attractive prizes are also planned for the nine races, and for the end of the season in the various classes, such as ‘Young Drivers’ (up to 25 years) and ‘Gentlemen’ (over 40 years). The overall winner in each of the classes mentioned can look forward to receiving a brand new KTM motorcycle.

KTM X-BOW GT4 MY 2018 WITH FURTHER REDUCED RUNNING COSTS!
The KTM X-BOW GT4 is considered to be a real pioneer vehicle in the currently booming GT4 category. The cooperation between KTM Sportcar GmbH and Reiter that began in 2015 has developed and constructed a racing car with international homologation that is now successfully competing in many racing series all over the world. Numerous victories and titles in the GT4 European Series, Pirelli World Challenge, VLN, China GT, Thailand Superseries, Australian GT, etc. testify to the performance of the vehicle, of which, there are some 60 units being deployed worldwide. The KTM X-BOW GT4 has undergone a comprehensive overhaul ahead of the fourth year of competition, and the focus of the development was on achieving yet another improvement in performance, and even lower running costs. Among other features, this overhaul includes a stronger transmission from Holinger installed with the MF code, which is not only designed for 700 Nm permanent torque but also doubles the mileage to 10,000 km! The mileage of the chassis components, such as the wishbones or the GT3 Central Locking Kit was increased to 20,000 km, which pushes the total cost down to € 3.90 per km. Also, to better tailor the KTM X-BOW GT4 to the needs of the customer teams, the MY 2018 now has a new Motec M142 engine control unit, which replaces the previous series model ECU, and also includes a complete Motorsport harness and electronic fuse box. A new control panel in the cockpit is user-friendlier for the driver, who from now on, can rely on a Motorsport Traction Control (GT3-Technology) and an LMP Headrest. The price of the KTM X-BOW GT4 MY2018, which can be ordered immediately, is € 152,360 (net). A total of 15 units are on the production plan for spring 2018, whereby the February production is already sold out. More information is available from the sales team at Reiter Engineering.
