Positive start for Aprilia Racing: four RS-GP26 machines in Q2 on the Sachsenring

MARCO BEZZECCHI SEVENTH AND JORGE MARTÍN EIGHTH. SUPERFILE TRACKHOUSE MOTOGP TEAM’S FERNÁNDEZ SECOND AND OGURA SIXTH
A solid Friday for Aprilia Racing on the first day of practice at the German Sachsenring circuit.

Marco Bezzecchi finished FP1 in eighth place and the practice session in seventh place, which is a result that puts him straight through to Q2, despite not being at 100% fitness after his crash in Assen. Jorge Martín, on the other hand, closed out his Friday with tenth place in FP1 and eighth in the practice session, also earning a spot in Q2.

Also worth a mention is the performance of the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team riders, with Raúl Fernández second and Ai Ogura sixth. Thanks to these results, Aprilia Racing sends four RS-GP26 bikes straight through to Q2.

Physically I’m suffering, but despite this, I managed to close out a decent Friday in the end, so I’m happy about that. Besides my arm, practically my entire body hurts, especially my back and thorax, because the Assen crash was very hard, not to mention both ankles.
Today was a day of a lot of work and we managed to go through to Q2, which is always the goal. Not racing here last year with Aprilia is an added difficulty, but we still managed to improve on every run. We also had upgrades to test, so there was some extra work as well. Saturday we’ll try to make another step forward.
On a highly technical track like the Sachsenring, we started well, taking four Aprilias straight through to Q2, and that is an important result for us. There are still some aspects which need to be fine tuned, and we have work to do in order to make riding as simple as possible for our riders so they can manage both the front and rear tyres as best as possible.
