Roberts Secures First West Hare Scramble Win of the Season

Liqui Moly Beta’s Zane Roberts charged to the top step of the podium at the seventh and final round of the AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship in Monte Vista, Colorado. Roberts showcased strategy and raw speed aboard his Factory RR 480 Race on the technical, rocky course at the Rocky Mountain Hare Scramble. After stalking the series leader for the first hour and a half, Roberts executed a perfect pit strategy by coming in on lap four to undercut his rival. He was able to get past the leader and rode a flawless final hour, well clear of the pack to claim his first overall WHS victory of the 2026 season and secure second place in the final Pro/AA championship standings.

“The final round of the AMA West Hare Scrambles took place this weekend just outside Monte Vista, Colorado. I didn’t nail my start and came out second at the end of the start straight. I stayed close to the leader and waited to use pit strategy to make the pass. We pitted a lap earlier than the leader and hoped to make the undercut pass when he would pit the next lap. I inherited the lead earlier than expected due to an issue with the then-leader. From there, I just rode smoothly and brought home my first win of the West Hare Scrambles season. It took far too long, but I’m glad to finally get one.”
