World Changing Event: The early 2000s marked a motorcycle manufacturing boom and a resurgence of classic brands. Motorcycling was steadily gaining popularity after the mid‑1990s downturn. Legendary names like Indian, Norton, and Triumph re‑emerged, while new companies such as Buell, Hyosung, Kymco, Phantom, Victory, Ridley, Roher, and Zero expanded the market with fresh models. This decade saw more variety than ever before, with global manufacturers competing across every segment. It wouldn’t be until 2009, during the global economic recession, that the industry would face its next major challenge.
