First Moto2 win for Salač and second Moto3 win for Almansa

· First career victory for Salač in Moto2™. In the 2026 Grand Prix of Great Britain Moto2™ race, held over 17 laps, all riders chose the soft Pirelli options, with the SC1 front and SC0 rear combo – the same solutions used throughout the weekend. The race went to Czech rider Filip Salač (Kalex), who claimed his maiden win in the World Championship intermediate class, after a thrilling final head-to-head with Iván Ortolá (Kalex), who finished second, with Álex Escrig (Forward) completing the podium after starting from ninth on the grid. The race was highly entertaining and closely fought, with several riders alternating at the front. The early stage was dominated by poleman Izan Guevara (Boscoscuro), before he handed the lead to Daniel Holgado (Kalex), who engaged a hard-fought battle with Manuel Gonzalez (Kalex) and Tony Arbolino (Kalex). On lap seven, Arbolino – later forced to pull out from the race, after crashing in the final stages – set the new race lap record with 2’02.682, improving the previous time set by Aron Canet in 2024 (2’03.984) by more than 1.3 seconds. 23 riders lapped below the previous race lap record.
 
· Second win of the year for Almansa. In the Moto3™ race, most riders opted for the medium SC2 compound at both front and rear, although some chose the soft SC1 rear tyre, and O’Gorman, Rios, Rammerstorfer and Carraro went for the soft compound on both axles. In the all-KTM podium, winner David Almansa (KTM) took home his second victory of the season after starting fourth on the grid, ahead of fellow Spaniard Álvaro Carpe, second, and Argentina’s Valentin Perrone, third. On lap ten, Carpe set the fastest race lap with a time of 2’10.199.

· Extremely fast races. Apart from being very tight, this year’s races were also extremely fast. The Moto2™ race was 24 seconds faster than in 2025 and 23 seconds faster than the 2024 race, with an average race-lap improvement of around 1.4 seconds. The Moto3™ race saw the overall race time improve by 13.6 seconds on the 2025 edition, lowering the race pace by nine tenths of a second per lap.

Records, fast and tight races with highly consistent tyre performance
 
“This weekend’s results are extremely positive for us and confirm the strength of our solutions across different conditions. In Moto2™, the all-time lap record was improved by more than six tenths of a second, and the race lap record by over 1.3 seconds. What’s more, 23 riders were faster than Canet’s previous 2024 record, highlighting the high level of performance achieved.
Despite the many head-to-heads and temperatures significantly higher than last year’s edition, the race was 24 seconds faster overall than in 2025, and 23 seconds faster than in 2024, with an average pace improvement of around 1.4 seconds per lap.
These results confirm the value of the new 2026 standard soft SC0 rear, which made its debut here at Silverstone last year as a development solution. This tyre has shown high-level performance both over a single lap and across race distance, maintaining consistent and uniform levels from start to finish, and confirming its effectiveness across a wide range of operating temperatures.
The Moto3™ was also very good, with a race that was equally fast, and the overall race time improved by over 13 seconds on the 2025 edition.
