2016 BMW F800GT Review

2016 BMW F800GT on www.Totalmotorcycle.com

Hit the road – the journey begins…

The dynamically-designed F 800 GT offers impressive dynamic performance on every ride – whether idyllic suburbs, winding mountain passes or endless highways.

A twist of the throttle and 90 horsepower ensure that you really can leave everyday routine behind you. The water-cooled 2-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 798 cc offers remarkable dynamic performance on every trip, achieving smooth power delivery through its low-maintenance toothed-belt drive. A longer rear-wheel swing arm and tighter suspension ensure a high level of ride stability, guaranteeing superb riding impressions.

The F 800 GT also offers control and comfort with suspension and three different seat heights which provide just the right ergonomics for each individual rider. What is more, the optionally available ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) can be used to adjust the rear rebound-stage damping to road conditions at the press of a button.

Clean lines and a perfectly adjusted touring windshield instantly promise pure riding pleasure.

Safety is the best travel companion. For this reason, the GT supports every brake maneuver as standard with dual-channel ABS – the most sophisticated system in a mid-range motorcycle. For those looking for an even higher level of safety, assistance is provided by the optionally available ASC.

Typical GT. Unstoppable tour.

2016 BMW F800GT www.Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

With the new F 800 GT as the successor model to the F 800 ST, BMW Motorrad is enhancing its range in the sporty touring segment and setting a new benchmark among mid-range motorcycles.

The high-torque, water-cooled 2-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 798 cc continues to provide dynamic propulsion in the 2016 F 800 GT. An increase in power has been achieved by means of revised set-up. It now has an output of 66 kW / 90 bhp (F 800 ST: 62.5 kW (85 bhp)) at 8,000 rpm. The 2016 F 800 GT boasts an even more supreme drive with the maintenance-free secondary drive via toothed belt.

What is more, improved ergonomics, optimised wind and weather protection and an even more practically oriented luggage system provides the basis for genuine “Gran Turismo”. The 2016 F 800 GT is also fitted as standard with ABS in line with the “Safety 360°” principle. Other optional systems such as Automatic Stability Control ASC and the Electronic Suspension Adjustment ESA ensure that the 2016 BMW F 800 GT sets new standards in terms of safety and comfort within its segment.

As part of the BMW Motorrad program of special accessories, the 2016 F 800 GT can also be fitted with an Akrapovic sports silencer. This slip-on silencer provides a particularly earthy 2-cylinder sound. Made of titanium and stainless steel it enables a weight reduction of approx. 1.7 kg as compared to the standard rear silencer.
