2016 Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro Review

2016 Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro on www.Totalmotorcycle.com

A real tribute to American dirt track racing…

The new Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro, an evolution of the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle, that recalls the world of American Flat Track racing. It mounts low variable section handlebars, a Termignoni exhaust, and is finished with alloy wheels. It is inspired by the motorcycles ridden by Troy Bayliss and Johnny Lewis at the 2015 American AMA Pro Flat Track championship and adds premium innovative details to the current Ducati Scrambler range. New features include side number plates, dedicated grips, a gas tank with graphics inspired by the race bikes, a “Racing Yellow” color and a uniquely designed seat. Additionally, machined details include footrests, rear view mirrors, and a brake fluid reservoir cap, which embellish this racing model of pure and free expression.

On the new Flat Track Pro version, the self-expression at the heart of the Ducati Scrambler takes on a grittier, racier attitude. Inspired by the bike ridden in the American AMA Pro Flat Track 2015 Championship by Troy Bayliss and Johnny Lewis, the Flat Track Pro is the latest addition to the Ducati Scrambler range.

Based on the Scrambler Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro version features an all-new Racing Yellow tank with two-tone painted side panels and a logo identical to the one on the bike that raced in the USA. The low tapered handlebars and an exhaust with low type-approved Termignoni Slip-on are the same as those on the Scrambler Full Throttle. The seat has been fully renewed with a rider-only design and yellow stitching. For the first time on a Ducati Scrambler, this bike features a side-mounted plate holder, while the nose fairing and short front mudguard, the same colour as the tank, are also unique to the Flat Track Pro version. Another high-prestige detail comes in the form of beautiful machined-from-solid rear-view.

The Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro has the same alloy wheels as the Full Throttle version plus the added feature of wheel rim piping the same colour as the tank. Moreover, the handgrips have been specially designed for this version.

Numerous machined-from-solid parts highlight the racing spirit of the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro. The footrests, sprocket cover, rear-view mirrors and front brake fluid filler cap come from the extensive Ducati Scrambler accessories catalogue, giving the Flat Track Pro an added touch of class.

Ducati Scrambler – The Land of Joy

Ducati Scrambler is not just a new motorcycle but rather a new brand, a new approach to the motorcycling world that offers not only performance and technology but also freedom of expression, fun and sharing of positive emotion. Ducati Scrambler is a new brand, offering a whole new world made up of bikes, accessories and apparel that provide the last word in self-expression. Anti-conformist, accessible and essential, the Ducati Scrambler is a perfect mix of tradition and modernity, a step towards the pure essence of motorcycling: two wheels, wide handlebars, a straightforward engine and endless fun. The Scrambler world – the latest addition to the Ducati universe – is one of authentic creativity and free expression; the lead-up to its official arrival has generated an unprecedented buzz, as has a captivating launch campaign of outstanding originality.

This is more than just a new bike: it’s a whole new world, one that expresses itself via a range of versions that provide a starting point for satisfying the different needs and wants of individual motorcyclists. “Post-heritage” design gives a contemporary take on the iconic bike built by Ducati back in the 70s. This Ducati Scrambler, though, is not a retro bike: it is, rather, intended to be just how the legendary motorcycle would be today if Ducati had never stopped building it.

In 2016 the Ducati Scrambler family is set to grow. The Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle and Classic versions will soon be joined by the Flat Track Pro, inspired by the world of oval track racing, and the new Sixty2 which opens the way for a new two-wheel segment that meets the requirements of those seeking a smaller-engined bike that is easy to handle and has low running costs but not wanting to miss out on the unique Scrambler spirit.

Moreover, thanks to a vast range of apparel and bike accessories, called “ingredients”, the Ducati Scrambler offers a virtually unlimited range of exclusive personalisation and lifestyle options.
